I am terribly sorry that the background is troubling to you but it does change each week so maybe it will be more to your taste next week . It and the picture changes each week. We value all our members and guests opinions and want the site to be as appealling and enjoyable to as many as possible. Thank you for your comments and we will welcome any suggestions that you may have to improve the site. Marie

Hi Queer
Well you can Join! But sorry if you think it looks that bad. Your opinion is important But here we like to make the forum inviting and I believe that is what the background does.
But it is not about the background that you join a forum it is more the information you get from the forum that makes the forum work for you. Plus the nice people that help you with the questions that you may have. Now I could go the Black Background or even a plain background but I believe that would not be inviting.
My Technical Lady Elizabeth works very hard on making the forum look inviting and does a great job doing it. But if you want to join the forum to share your information or need some help with one of your guys then we be more then happy to help.
But do not let the background stop you from joining any forum! In other words the background does not make a forum the people that are on the forum make the forum.
Thanks Patrick

Well I guess everyone has a right to there opinion. I joined this site because it was fun and it changes every week, this makes it exciting and it doesn't get boring. The information here is priceless and so are the people. It is a great place to get information and interact with other iguana people and pets. So, like Marie said maybe next will it will be better to your liking

I can deal w/ the backgrounds. My main concern is the large logo/header at the top. This makes for quite a bit of scrolling on each page click.

:(Welcome Friend:( We are very sorry that you are finding that maneuvering through the forum is so overtaxing and tedious. We do not deliberately try to make our members work so hard. The large header/logo is where we display our picture of the week. This is a feature of this forum that our membership has expressed a strong desire to keep when asked. They enjoy having a chance to view the other members pets and to have theirs displayed for a week. They feel it is worth the effort of hitting the page down button an extra time. But be assured that we will give your suggestion and the previous suggestion all the consideration they deserve at our next chat. We thank you both and hope that you will be able to overlook our flaws and decide to become part of our community. We look forward to hearing from you both again. Marie

Hello Guest
I am Glad you could stop by and look at are little community that we have here, and your suggestions are always Helpful and Welcomed.
Marie is right about why we post the picture of the week at the top of are board some are bigger then others and some are smaller but if you were a member of the forum, I think you would want to see your reptile post there all week. I know I would if I was a member of another forum.
I have the picture posted at the top for the members to show off their reptiles for a week and I believe the members of the forum seem to like having their animal on the top of the forum for a week.
Most forums that I have visited do have a nice size banner on their front page. It’s called the signature, well sense I do not have a front page I have to put my signature in the forum as a header.
I do apologize for any extra work that you have to do to look at the forum it was not the intention. But like all things these days, we all have to work a little bet hard for the things we like to do or the things we enjoy.
Thanks Again For the Suggestions
Patrick Administer

The suggestions are very much appreciated But I would like to just say I think the added personal touches of the Photo of the Week and the changes to the background are wonderful and makes this forum unique. The changes may not be to the liking of everyone every week due to differences of taste but it does change each week and adds variety to the site. She is also responsible for the cute smileys we have here and so many other things. Elizabeth, the Technical Administrator, is very creative and talented. As Patrick has said she works hard to create an atmosphere that I feel is warm, comfortable and inviting. I appreciate her efforts. Thank you Elizabeth. Marie

Dear Guests...My hubby bought me a new mouse for mothers day. It has a middle roller ball that makes it super easy to scroll. He said it was not expensive and was worth the 10 bucks he paid to 'shut me up' about having to physcally click on the scroll bar on the right of the screens! Personally, I love the different backgrounds and new pic every week. Never get board here. The only problem I have is with the font colors. Sometimes I cannot read the posts, or part of the headings. Is this a setting I can change on my computer? Is there a spell check among all the tools at the top of the post box? If so, please show me...if not could you add one? All in all, I love the site and the posts. Keep up the good work. leeslynn

Leeslyn, Thank you for you nice comments. Feedback is nice to get. I have already answered about the background colors in the other post. No there is no spellcheck. What one of the staffmember here does is type responses in Word and then cuts and paste it into the reply. It works great for him. But we will look into a spellcheck. Thanks Marie

Leeslynn I meant font colors. Sorry I was posting from work and was interrupted. But I do not believe so. I believe it is on our side and will need to be changed by the Technical Administrator who as I have mentioned has been dealing with a personal situation and has not been able to get to it yet. Sorry about it being hard to read but it will be resolved soon. Thanks Marie

Dear Everyone,
You guys have some great comments about the site and a few that are sincere.
I love this site and I don't think I would have as much fun here as I do if it was a "boring" background and nothing changed. Change is good! (must be listening to my chameleons too much on that)
It is exciting to go somewhere and see new things every week, its like window shopping without leaving the house! I just want to say how much of a good job our Technical Administrator is doing with this site. Some font colors are a bit hard to read if you have a smaller monitor. But I guess I'm lucky there with a 19in monitor I can see clearly. If it were smaller I would have a harder time.
So keep up the good work everyone, this site is great and the people here are great too.
Stephanie

Two suggestions on the font....
1.) Send me a private message on here (Elizabeth) and let me know what you are having trouble seeing and I will do my very best to correct any issues, but you have to tell me otherwise I don't know... I work on the site on my laptop and I know that it looks different on here than on my desktop too so I just do what looks good trying to have a theme with the background and board colors...
(I am glad that everyone for the most part enjoys the changes I really enjoy the work and hope to make it appealing to everyone... If you have a cool pic you want used as a background feel free to pass them on I am always open to ideas and suggestions...)
2.) If something is harder for you to read there is one setting on your computer I know is easy to switch
on your tool bar at the top of your internet explorer window you have the file edit view favorites tools help
If you click view for the drop down menu you can then click text size and then select one that might be larger than what you already use and this may help with the problem... (I use medium on my laptop and it seems to work well for me)
Anyway... like I said ever have an issue please just send me a pm on here or an email to my personal email address and I will get to it as quickly as possible to see what I can do to correct any problems... (I promise I don't bite...)
Thanks everyone and happy postings...
Elizabeth (Technical Admin)
