If you look in the pictures of the link I gave you for the incubator...it shows the boxes with the lids on. It looks as if they do not have water added outside of the boxes, but rather inside in the vermiculite itself. Try it again when she's ready for another clutch and keep the fan off while closing in the moisture in the egg box itself. www.dachiu.com/care/incubator.html <---read the very last sentence on the page. Is the room itself climate controlled well? I don't know anything about raising baby beardies either. Just what I read and other's experiences. I good place to go for the best help...if they deem you worthy...:-)...is the yahoo group: pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/pogona/

Sorry to hear about your eggs, if she has any more then use either damp spagnum moss so that when you ring it out it does not drip or use vermiculite which is 1:1 with water to keep the humidity up. Put a lid on your tub that the eggs are in and make sure the temps are correct, I cover the top of the eggs in a sheet of damp kitchen towel myself but other people bury them almost in the vermiculite or spagnum moss. check your eggs about once a week to make sure they are stil in a humid environment and to change the air in the incubator. I do not put holes in my tubs as this keeps them nice and humid but i do lift the lid once a week to change the stagnant air, other people put a few small holes in their tubs so they have no need to open the lid every week.
This is only what I do and is no way me telling you how you should do things, it works for me so might be worth a shot

I know what I did wrong with the eggs. I didnt cover them after putting them into the incubator. I underestimated the power of the fan on the incubator. all the eggs failed. I made a simple mistake. I should of covered them. I have been keeping a running temp on my incubator since the eggs failed. I now keep just the vermiculite in the rubbermaid containers so I have it ready when she lays again. By the way she is back to normal size and still getting bigger by the day. I suspect she will have eggs again soon due to the fact that she can lay multiple clutches. I now have multiple tanks for breeding purposes. I also have a new cage that I have moved my breeding pair too. I seperated them from each other and keep them together for a week. Then finally seperated them for good. I know she will lay again because Drazil is such a prolific breeder. He is always trying to gain attention with his head bobs and such. I also think Bonnie is a very healthy lizard. I feed my dragons alot of different greens and fruit. I also give them a good mix of crickets every once in awhile. I feed them more superworms than crickets. Crickets have been hard to keep for too long. My superworms are fed a healthy diet of different greens and their bedding is flukers cricket feed. They are very very large supers. I feed them each 4 a day by hand. I occasionally feed phoenix worms but that gets expensive. Thanks for the help but Im pretty sure Ill get it the next time.

Please be careful breeding her again so soon. Even though she's healthy, the strain can really compromise her health. It's suggested only 2-3 clutches per year so the female can recover fully between them. The only way to know for sure is to get blood tests before she becomes gravid, after she lays, and then again periodically until you find out how long the intervals are with the care and diet your providing that her Ca: P levels are normal again...:-)

I know that. Thats why I seperated them for good after a week of them back togeather. She's gonna lay again. They lay multiple clutches after one breeding session. She isnt sharing a cage with him anymore. I have him in a 180 gallon custom built cage. She is in a 40 breeder. They have been seperated since the first clutch. Thats why I put her in then took her out for good.

Hes right prismwolf, the female only needs to mate once and can have to upto 5 clutches that year depending on her age, and unfortunately there is nothing he can do to stop her. All he can do is up her calcium level and such in the hope of keeping her healthy.
Its the same with leos they only need to mate once and can have upto 10 pairs of eggs a year and again there is nothing you can do about it except keep her as healthy as possible.

Yep your on target loulou. I have a large cage for them now. A student that goes to the school I work at gave me a cage made of plexiglass. This cage is around the size of 180 gallon aquarium. I can also put separating plexiglass in too separate them need be. I do have 2 40 breeder tanks that one dragon is in and the other is for my lay box.
