Let me know what you think. A picture of her old set up.. Her new set up. A close up of her hide and the tile square. Okay, well..for starters my cage was only 3ft and the lights are 4ft SO I had to hang them because the fixture wouldnt lay on the cage. The black thing on the side of the cage is her Habba Mister. Not so sure how I like it but its pretty nifty. She really likes having a place to get away from view and somewhere she can curl up and sleep so theres a half of a platic sterilite in there with a while towel for her to sleep on. Thats sitting on a tile square so that she has somewhere to lay down thats not right under her basking spot and thats not on the metal wire. Let me know whatchya think! I'm thinking of swapping her hide and her food bowls since the mister shoots rights over her hide =/

Hi there Lucara, The set up looks pretty good, but the closer you can get those lights to the top of the tank the better. She/he has to be 12" away from those tubes for them to be benificial. Also you should put another shelf on the right side so if she is hot she can go over to the cooler side but still get the UV from the lights. Other than that I think to me everything looks alright. What is the upside down tub on the bottom? Is that the resivoir for the mister or something? But a good improvement so far. How are the temperatures in the basking spot? And at the other side if she decided to go over there to cool off?

From her basking ledge, the light is about 10" away. That tub is some place for her to sleep, away from the mister. Right now shes sleeping up on her basking ledge and she may keep it that way but I'll leave it for a few weeks just incase. She really liked sleeping in her shoe box. I rechecked the temps about 2 hours after everything was plugged back in. Her basking ledge around around 87 and inside of her little hiding box was 72. I'm planning on using the extra plexiglass portions to make a few more ledges her her to use.

thats great! But make sure one is away from her basking spot and no more than 12" from the tubes. Just a suggestion, for optimal UV intake.

That's a great enclosure. I prefer the open air cages for my lizards.

Open-air is all fine and well unless you live in an arid climate. I always suggest adding drop cloth or shower curtain around the sides and back to help hold in the humidity. For greens especially. And honestly...after 10" the UVB diminishes very quickly. Especially towards the ends where the UVB is the weakest. The tubes emit strongest at the center.
Is there anyway you can add a foil backing to the fixture behind the tubes? Line the back of the fixture with aluminum foil, shiny side out. Allow the foil to curve in an arc. Do NOT follow the sharp angles. By allowing the foil to curve it "collects" the UVB in a tighter field and aims a more focussed and condensed UVB reading onto the animal...by nearly double the amount (depending upon the surface color of the inside of the fixture, white being the most reflective will give you up to a 22% increase...less reflective will increase this percentage).

I dont see why I couldnt. You cant see them on her cage but all except for the side with the mister and the top are covered in plexiglass to retain heat and moisture. I'll cover the light tonight so that it will work in the morning. She LOVES that UVB lamp! I dont htink she moved from under it all day! =D
