Well yesterday I go to bring Zorak in from outside and he's holding his front leg up and won't stand on it. Somehow he injured his leg. I just can't win. Today he's walking on it but still favoring it. I checked it out and it doesn't look broken. It's not swollen or anything. I got some vet tape (the stretchy kind) and wrapped his arm to his body to hold it in place. And boy did that piss him off. But at least he can't put weight on it for a while.
The last three years not one problem with him. Now that I move here he gets a broken tail and now an injured arm. I'm assuming he got his arm stuck in the bars of his cage but I don't know. I've watched him for hours and never see him do much. He moves in the sun and out of the sun. Or he goes and eats. He must be doing some acrobatics when I'm not around in order to keep hurting himself.

It's possible something got to close to his cage that scared him, too. Even a bird flying overhead can cause a frantic reaction.

Well he won't keep the wrap on. No matter what I do he gets out of it within an hour. Although it's not swollen or anything I'm thinking it is broken on the lower part of his arm below the elbow. Normally MDB is to blame for broken bones so I've changed his diet. Since he gets real sunlight almost every day it can't be the lighting issue. I know he needs extra calcium to heal. Our other ig that we rescued had MDB really bad. We had to put some cottage cheese in her food a couple times a week for a while. I picked up some more calcium/phosphorus supplement to sprinkle on his food also.
There is only one vet near me within a 50 mile radius that will see iguanas. He doesn't have an appointment available for 2 weeks. It's the same guy that I called about his tail. In 2 weeks his leg will be healed up already. I figured I may as well start treating him myself.
Anyone have suggestions on how to deal with a broken front leg on an iguana? I've already started increasing his calcium intake. And I can't keep a wrap on him no matter what I try.
