Well, our dog had her puppies tonight. So far she's had three. We think there is one more, but aren't sure yet. She's doing great! So far there is one solid black like her and two black and white like their daddy. She's doing great. I will post pictures as soon as she's ready to have some taken. I've come to realize that animals are the only ones who can go through giving birth and come out looking great! hehe

Sweetie is a mutt lol We know she's part lab, but aren't sure about who the father is. Sam is a full blooded border collie. Both of their pictures are in one of the posts I made when introducing my family lol. I will post some pictures later today when I get them off my camera.
As of 3am she had a total of eight puppies. Seven are alive and doing well.

This is her first litter. We were planning on having her fixed in September because that's when we'd have the money. We don't want to get our male dog neutered because he is a very good watch dog right now and we worry that he will become very passive. Last time she went into heat we did all that we could to keep them apart, but my daughter felt sorry for them not being able to play and let them get too close. Then she came in and told me their collars were tangled lol. And now we have these lil babies. The puppy that didn't make it was born with a very severe birth defect. It was really sad, but it's part of nature )o: All the babies and Sweetie are doing very well today.

The puppy's outter layers of skin didn't close over the stomach. There was a very small membrane, but the internal organs were protruding. It wasn't fully developed with external genitalia. We're not planning on keeping any right now. We will have to see when they get bigger. I usually become attached to atleast one in a litter. When they are old enough, we're going to move the litter outside into a covered dog pin.

Here are some pictures taken this morning and tonight (o: Sweetie and babies in the kennel. Again in the kennel. In a really big box to give her more room. And again in the box cause I missed the lil guy on her leg. There is one brown one and two with brown spots. We think it's 6 girls and 1 boy, but we're giong to check again when she's a little calmer. She wasn't thrilled with us flipping the babies upside down lol

We keep them in the kennel at night and when we're not here. We're very afraid our cats will think they are mice and will have at them if they're left out without super vision.

They've all been assigned numbers lol Does anyone know if baby wipes will keep the flea away from them? Right now we have a very high flea population, so our house is over run. I know I can't use flea shampoos on them or Sweetie right now. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the fleas down short of steam cleaning my floors daily?
