cyclura caymanensis are the brown iguanas of little cayman. They are HUGE beautiful animals that command alot of respect when you see them in the wild.

WOW!!! What an experience that was!! Thank you so much for posting pictures they are wonderful to see... I have a question in the last picture in the 3rd set of pictures there is the blue with a little red thing in their neck... Is that some kind of monitor or transmitter that they mark them with??

Nicole,
Thank you so much for posting these picture. I know I really enjoyed them immensely.
That looks like the most ideal trip to go on. Those iguanas are so gorgeous and majestic in their natural habitat. It must have been great to see them that way and up close. I think I could lose myself there and I wouldn't want to ever come home--I'd want to move me and my iguanas there.
Thank you again for posting them. I look forward to the next batch.
Take Care Marie

If you look on cyclura.com under Team Blue photos I was part of that team. It was REALLY hard...I mean so hot and the habitats are no where near a beach---so basically your working in pea soup. The trip to little cayman we took on our day off....that was very nice.

WOW that trip looks GREAT! Patrick and Denise brought the blue iguana recovery to my attention and I want to go next year. They are planning on going next year. But thats no set in cement yet! Just like me going isn't. Those are some great photos! and man if you get that tanned being down there for 2 weeks sign me up every 3 months! It was great of you to share those photos with us and I see what you mean about those brown iguana's being huge. That is one large lizard. It must have been a great experience for you to go and do that. Do you think you'll ever go again? The pics are great! I'm excited now I really want to go! >:(thanks sooooooo much!

one of the brown ig's chased me on little cayman---lol --and never go near any of them without work boots or something covering your toes. Apparaently toes resemble little edible somethings to them. One day I would go back but I would plan it much differently.... grand caymanis a very expensive trip....the food, everything. And very few cell phones work down there...so it's all phone cards and payphones...and if you go in august like I did you'll bake. I was basically tan when I got off the plane already though
