Sorry you guys probably get this all the time but i was looking at pictures of Members enclosures and saw different colouring light bulbs eg the red one!
Do Iggy's need specific coloured bulbs?! As i ony have the UVB bulb and another ordinary bulb which looks similiar to the House hold Bulb!
Thanks and sorry to be a pain

I don't know how true this is, but I was told the blue and red lights are good for low lighting and emitting heat. Here is a link to several different light bulbs. Read the descriptions and they may help you (o: store.everythingreptileinc.com/inbabu.html

Hey Natasha
No one is ever a pain! To tell you the True Some of the lights I sell at the Store you really do not need in less you want to bring out the colors in the animal or if you have a show animal you want to bring the Color out of. It is best to use a regular house hold for heat and UVB for UVB if they need heat at night I would use a heat projector or a CHE heater for night the Red and Blue will work as will depending on the iggy some do not care and some do. It is best for them to be in the Dark at night so they can get there proper rest LOL!!!!!

Thanks Patrick & Mortania by the sounds of it i am not doing to bad!
I like the blue and red light in the enclosure but thats more decoration then neccesarily for my Iggy!
At the moment i have a regular bulb and UVB. as for heat he never did well with Bulbs so he now has a flooring Heat matt which he lies on when feels the need to heat up!
Tbh i would love Iggy to get more colour but he is very sensitive to light when trying to sleep at times i have to cover the front of his tank with a dark towel. So might just stay with what i have! Thanks again

The mega ray bulb will bring out their true colors. Also iguanas get their heat from above, not below. Darkness is better for them to sleep also. So you may want to reconsider for better health of your iggy. No question is a pain,if you want to have a healthy iguana. All of us are still learning daily. Sorry if this sounds mean,it is not meant to be taken that way! I'm just trying to help is all. Good Luck whatever you do,take care.

Thanks Denise any advice is great! No offence taken! Well i have the matt and a Normal bulb above his Basking Log where he lies so will that apply the right amount of heat for him?!
I am dying to learn more i have such a passion in animals as it is! TBH i might give the colourful bulbs a miss it sounds they are more for vanity of your iguana then true purpose!
Thanks Again ;D

Well we use a regular 60-100 watt bulb, depending on the weather. Plus we have the mega ray bulb, but you can use a tube light for UVB and a CHE heater for their basking area. But you can also use a heat projector for night time heat. We leave our CHE heaters on constantly especially winter time. The matt isn't nessecary, they should get their heat from above. Plus I reccomend getting either a temp gun or temperature gauges to see if you need to adjust the heat. Patrick sells them in his store, check it out: store.everythingreptileinc.com/repr.htmlThis is an old pic,but it may help? Or give you some ideas? This tank I set up for my son's iggy he won at the fair. He passed away though. I believe because they had him in sand and he ingested too much. Sorry not a very good pic Here's another temporary enclosure for a friends iggy that we kept for a bit. Not a good pic either. But I hope it helps.
