You really can't buy a better reptile light right now. Try them, your reptiles will love you for it! Patrick, I can't wait to hear what you think of them. Of course, having a UVB Meter is a great help so you can actually "see" the difference. But, I think you will notice a difference in your Iguanas right off the bat. BTW, this line of lamps have proven tremendously successful for turte/tortoise health and breeding. Hi Deb.

Hey Patrick-
Solarmeter 6.2 is the one everyone is using right now. It's adequate and easy to use.
I'm excited for you too. In fact, I'm excited every single day when I plug the Mega-Ray in and watch it begin cranking UVB. Rex really loves it.
Regards, Dominick

Yes folks, Feedback is essential to any product development and improvement. Please, I also encourage everyone who has a Mega-Ray, to write and tell Deb and Bob what they think. Regards, Dominick Hey this is a fascinating conversation. Think I will stick around for a bit.

Very good my friend-
You will not be disappointed. Get the meter as soon as you can, you will be amazed with how little UVB iguanas are under once you can measure them and compare them to the Mega-Ray.

How's the meter reading going Patrick?
Are you amazed at the different readings you get?
Perhaps Elizabeth would like to split this thread off to a separate discussion?

Hey Dominick
Oh yes I have enjoyed the meter reading of all the different bulbs I have the old one I use for the snake now which I know they do not need UV but it make the color of the Snake so much Better.
The new Reptisun’s I am still using in places and the New Mega Rays that are working out so GREAT!!!
I do try to spread the word about them and I hope it is working that this bulb is amazing. The color that they give my guys and the Great UV it puts out.
Thanks for asking Elizabeth to make a lighting page and I think we could split the thread because it getting a little long and we are still talking about the Mega Rays.
Now if I could only put a Reptile UV banner on top of the page then it would be a true lighting page LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Patrick-
I'll work on the banner code for you. Glad to hear things are going well and that your ballast issue was resolved.
I just measured the UVB of my lamp (EB series), it is 8 months old and is putting out 106 mW/cm2 at 16"!

Hey Dominick
Dominick I have a question on the meter reading you say you get 106 mW/cm2 at 16". My question is the 106 reading;
now on my meter I get at 12 inches a 13 maybe 14 not a 106? Nothing in the hundreds???
Now on a new reptsin’s 5.0 bulb I get 11 or 12 sometimes 13 at 12”. How would you turn that into what your reading is in mW/cm2 ?
Thanks for the help Patrick
