Our water dragon Liten Bryte(the one with the broken tail) is now missing a small piece of her upper lip and the thing is, I don’t understand how it happened. She barely had nose rub when we first got her and that went away. Everyday, I take them out one by one to hold them and let them walk around the room and her mouth was fine. It seems like this happened over night. Yesterday, I went to take her out and when I saw her, I wanted to cry. The weird thing is, it is pretty much healed already and it does not affect her in any way. She is still active and still eats with no problems. I just wish I knew what happened. It makes me feel like I’m a bad water dragon owner.

Is she in with the bigger ones?? Could she have problems with any of them?? That does seem like an odd occurance, hopefully it is a one time thing... I highly doubt you are in anyway a bad WD owner!!

Well I do not know about that happening but it is funny how things can happen. Elizabeth maybe be right in this case. If they are house together could that be what has caused it. I know iguanas can get plain right nasty with each other when they are house together. And they can be fine for years. But We all know your not a Bad WD owner. I would watch them closely to see if anything else happens.

She is housed with bigger WD's,but they don't bother her. The only ones I see chased around is Ladon and Nexus. If they aren't chasing each other from time to time, Kveldulv chases them. I am going to keep an eye on Liten though.

On graceful dragons,Dragos mom, gave me the idea of she might have caught her lip on something since they do jump around.

I am sorry to hear Liten Bryte is hurt. As I said on the GD forum it could have been much worse, I am glad it was not. Question about the wound... Is there actually meat missing from the area or is it just scales off her skin?

It looks like it is the meat is missing .Hard to tell now. It has pretty much healed. Now her bottom lip is just a tiny tiny tiny bit longer than the top. I'm just happy it wasn't worse and that it seems to be healing with no complications.
