Very cute!! I love Water dragons!! They are so personable. I would get rid of the shavings, however. These can cause impaction. Here's a great site on WD care and it will let you know what kind of substrate to use...:-) www.triciaswaterdragon.com/

Oh yeah we did. I noticed that when he ate his crickets, he would get pieces of the shavings stuck in his mouth. The idiot at the pet store suggested using that stuff.

Hi there, Yes what a very cute little one! People at pet stored don't always know what they are talking about. Lots of times they tell you things you don't even need just to sell things. It is a really bad parctice but they really don't care about the total life of your pets. Just what money they can make while its alive and hopefully it will live for a few years and then when it dies will say "oh it could have gotten sick" or some dumb excuses. It is better to ask a lot of questions before you get an animal and if you already have it NEVER be afraid to ask lots of questions anyway. There is always something more to learn. Water dragons are very active animals, so be careful if he/she jumps off things. They can get hurt and break bones. 3 people I've talked to in the last few months have had there waterdragons break a bone and one had hers in a very large enclosure. Just giving you a heads up. Good luck and hope to hear more as he/she grows up
