Hiya All, Just thought I would pop in to share with you all the new house I have for Pooka (for the mean time) I found an awesome deal on a 60 gallon terrarium with slideing screen tops and could not pass it up. I will be using it as Pookas House untill I can make a bigger terrarium that is more upright. I spent lots more on extra decor and lighting then I ever did on the new tank which caught me kind of of guard (and I'm still working on a uvb solution) Pooka seems to be OK with the new house, she is not hideing and she is still eating 10+ crickets a day so she must not be too angry with me. Here it is: And finally, in all her basking glory... The Pooka...

Wonderful absolutely awesome cage! Pooka will love it. She looks a bit small for it. Wow. Over 10 crickets a day? That's wonderful. And a wonderful cage. And Pooka is vey pretty in that picture.

It looks great and I am sure he will grow into it in no time... Have you thought about just the regular 4 ft light fixture to put UVB bulbs in?? I lay mine across the top of the tank that the babies are in and then for Little Foot her's is mounted on the wall lengthwise of her enclosure!!

Thanks everyone Ya it seems a bit big for her it was a bear to get the whole thing the right temps (had 2 buy 2 more lamp hoods) but she will do OK I'm sure. She is about 8 inches long and the cage is 48 so it is well over 4 times her length. I have been stronlgy considering getting a 4 foot strip light with a UVB tube. If anyone knows of a site to order that at a decent price that would be great if you could share it. I checked out home depot and although the prices are good the fixtures are much more suited for adding them to the interior of a custom built enclosure.

I have posed the question in the Lighting section... basically all considered I will go with a 48 inch hood by flukers with a 48 inch reptisun5.0 OR the external ballasted 60watt Megaray flood bulb kit from reptileuv.tripod.com

The black dome on the far left holds a ESU Coil style UVB bulb which seemed to be plenty when Pooka had nowhere to run... But I gotta figure something out because I can move the UVB light over one basking spot and she will chose another spot. Maybe pull out a basking spot? Regardless that UVB coil light is rather weak from what I have learned so its on to something stronger.
