My wife asked me to build some climby-hidey thing for her hamster, and this is what I came up with. You can make out the wooden "tower" behind the carboard tubes. It is two zig-zag platforms. The hamster seems to love it. A honduran milk snake lives in the 29g behind the hamster - that tank used to be Chica's home. The skull actually serves a function - keeping the lid secure. Here's a pic of our dog, Toffee, from a recent vacation to one of the more scenic spots in Alaska: . . . . OK, I lied as this wider shot shows: It was really just the parking lot of the local Home Depot a little while ago. I don't have a GPS, but it is pretty easy to spot Home Depot in Google Earth. I was standing about 61 34'22N 149 25'20 W, if anyone wants to check it out, looking roughly east/southeast towards the Chugach Mountains and Anchorage beyond.

Beautiful country. I understand about escaping hamsters. I had some as a kid. They chewed their Habitrail covers. They end up getting too cold when they escaped. Toffee looks very pretty. Thanks for sharing.

Hey there Those are some cool photo's Hope to see one of the snake one day. I dislike hamsters very much, I've saw some NASTY ones. Expecailly the one that took a chunk out of my finger down to the bone. Lets just say he became dinner for a pyton after that. He was a very mean hamster, no wonder why the petstore gave him to my brother for free. Taffy is a very cute lookin dog It is actually very pretty in Alaska. Good to know that there isn't snow there 24/7 Hope to see more pictures again sometime Thanks

No 24/7 snow... true. At least if you ignore all that snow on the mountains in the background.
