Hi folks!
Was encouraged to do an intro, so here it is!
I'm a native So. Californian working as a software engineer in the aerospace industry. My fiance and I have 4 lizards - Vega$, our green iguana girl, who's about 9.5 years old, Yucca and Daytona the bearded dragons (6 and 5 years old respectively, and Darby the juvi ig, our newest addition; Darby was abandoned at the vet, and was intended to be a foster til my fiance decided we should keep him. We guesstimate he's around 9-11 months old, and he's all boy! I haven't done much shots lately, but our www.beachy-iguana.com site has shots of our older 3 lizards. Since we have Darby now, our acquirement of a cyclura is now postponed indefinitely -- it was going to be either a lewisi hybrid or a cornuta, unless we get a bigger home.
Vega$ is our only free-roamer, who rules the bedroom and is kept in with a baby-gate. She has surprised me over the years with her personality, intelligence and ability to learn & problem-solve. Unfort, she hasn't taken well to Darby, so doubt those two will ever cohabitate. Though Darby's enclosed, he freeroams the living room when someone is home. He's a great jumper, leaping for the artificial ficus tree when he then falls asleep.
I'm also much involved with the IRCF. I've travelled to Grand Cayman twice to assist with the Blue Iguana Recovery Program. I also helped with the cyclura conservation table at Reptilefest in Chicago. And now, I'm heading to Daytona for the NRBE to support the booth and the auction. Next month, I'll be at the NARBC in Anaheim, CA for IRCF. I'm hoping to return to Cayman in December.
