So I'm Nick, i live in Indiana and I have so two igs. Like most I knew nothing about iguanas when i first got one, but it was a situation thing, Binkie needed a home right then, so… I got Binkie, I got her in february of 2000, I rescued her from an abandoned apartment. She was cold and starving when I got her, she probably would not of survive another night in that apartment, it was during a snow storm and the electricity had been cut a few days earlier. From what I heard, she had a very rough couple of years before me, She was basically raised in a crack house, and was constantly teased, drugged and abused from what I was told. Then Scar came to me later that following summer, a friend got stuck with him and they were not taking very good care of him. I immediately took him too the vet. The vet was very crapy with me, she thought I was responsible for his poor health. He spent 4 days in the vet, probably would of been more but I had little cash at the time. He had surgury to remove the infection in his snout, he is missing a nostril and has a hole where it was. why he is called Scar. he has so much dead skin on him, among other things. He smelled like he was rotting. He spent two weeks on antibiotics, but made a quick recovery, I was very surprised. When i first got him, he was 5 years old and weighed less than a pound and was about 3 feet long. Now is over 4 ft long, weighs about 10 lbs. very active and crazy. Binkie, is smaller, she about 3 feet, but missing part of her tail, weighs about 4 lbs. She is extremely passive and lazy. Her and scar have been cage mates the entire time. We recently moved and they got alittle aggressive towards each other so they were separated, but recently a getting long with each other. They live in our bathroom, they have free range of it, the cage has no doors and they have a cat tree to climb on. They love it, plus the bath room stays so warm and humid, its great. So thats the quick story version of my igs.
