Hi! my names Allie.. new to the whole lizard thing... me and my bf recently adopted a baby girl iguana we call Jellybean from a local fish store for free.. she's doin good so far.. our only issue is she seems to hate us.. she whips and hisses.. when she was brought to the fish store she was found in the bushes so she's used to living in the wild on her own and new to us.. anyone have some tips on training her? her diet is good.. she eats vitamen powder on her collard greens (fresh picked from the garden) she dosnt seem to drink much water and the vet we saw today says she seemed quite stressed (perhaps all the time or because she had to go to the vets in a cardbord box i'm sure she didnt like) any tips.. please feel free to send them to me! thank you all for your help ;D

Hello Allie! Just wanted to welcome you. I'll get back to you after work. Here are some questions to get started:
* Cage - How big and what kind (aquarium, screen, etc? * Substrate - What do you use on the bottom of the cage(s)? * UVB source - What do you use for UVB (brand and strength)? * Heat source - What do you use for heat? * Temperatures - What are the temps in the three different areas (basking, ambient, cool end/night)? * Thermometer - What do you use to monitor the temps? * Diet - What foods do they get (list specific items)?
It's impossible to visually sex an iguana as a baby. Your ig will be about 1 1/2 yrs old before you can make a good "guess"...;-)
