Hello i heard that carpet was not good to use for Savannah monitors, is peat moss alright to use?

Well are we talking about reptile carpeting or are we talking about regular carpeting

hello matt well my monitors both love to dig and its a normal trait for boscs, they are burrowers so you need something that holds a burrow. alot of ppl use dirt of one kind or another. i use a mixture of sterile dirt and sand. but you really have to look hard to find the apropriate soil. it must be good at holding burrows,doesnt get to dusty when dry, and absorbs water well the last thing you want is sold substrate and a puddle ontop. i get it all from nurserys locally but it did take a bit of hunting out (oh and i spray it daily)
