Me and my friend Brian went to check the filters of my inground pool today. And we saw a snake! Thinking fast of all the snakes I know. I just assumed it was either a garter snake or a copperhead. I was in too much shock. I didn't expect to see a snake! Maybe a frog, my old turtle Pablo, even a mouse, but we haven't had a snake in our pool in like 3 years. After about 20 m minutes of trying to get it out the filter wth various kitchen ware and thin branches, he finally swam out, he was very beautful, he was real small, maybe 1' and 3". I swooped him up in a nice, deep net, and I went to flip the net over so keep him from getting out, and what do you know, there's hole in the net! And he's got about 5" of himself out of the net! So I dunk the net back through the water a few times. And we ran down to my woods, we were gonna run way down the road and let it go somewhere else, but we got stopped by some of our redneck naeighbors, and they started chatting with us about catfish and crap. Then they saw our little copperhead friend with like 3" of his body out of the net. And they seemed a bit surprised. So we just ran across my yard and threw it into the water. I wanted to take him down the road, but he was gonna get out. So all we can do is hope he never comes back. But that was my first hot snake catch ever! Woot woot.

Hey Patrick, They saw us with a big net and thought we were trying to catch a big catifsh they let go in our creek! Heh. And they saw the snake coming out, and then I saw it, and I just sort of ran away! Heh. Really? You saw water moccasins? Sure they weren't watersnakes? Mocassins live mainly in the Shenandoah area. This is so cool! Jessie(my cousin) had her first hot snake encounter not too long ago... I had mine today! And who knows when Steven will have his! Heh. The redneck neighbors didn't seem to care that we weren't killing it, so that's always good. It means rednecks these days don't hate snakes so much! Heh. Thanks for reading all these long posts!
