Renee, Sorry to hear that your husband and Iggy is still not playing nice. Too bad about the rescues and adoptions not going through. I wish I knew of something that could be done. And sorry about Iggy's tail. Huff dropped part of his but his is growing now. Well hope something comes up soon.

Iggy update: Go ahead and take Iggy off the adoption list. He's been relocated.
On Sat I think he mistook my son for my husband and he went after him. "OH GOD, MOM HELP ME!" as he was chased down the hall to the spare room and over the bed. I got there before Iggy got over the bed. Got my son out and shut the door just in time for him to jump into the other side of the door...
Enough was enough and I called the vet to have him put down. The only herp vet on staff wasn't in so they referred me to someone else. and so on and so on until I found one who then refused to put down a healthy animal. BUT they gave me several numbers to try. I tried the last one first and it was a winner.
A single female, no kids and the room mate had just moved out. Lives in a house and has four other igs at different stages / ages. She's fostered and placed 12 other iguanas and she's a vet tech. It was iggy's lucky day. and mine too because I didn't want to have to put him down. So now he is in another "spare bedroom" with all his stuff (stuffed animals, rugs, climbing pole.... the whole kit a caboodle to make it just like home except for the change in scenery and human. and after he gets adjusted he'll be getting a girlfriend to keep him company... A match made in heaven and an angel sent from above. Thank all for you friendships, chats and support. I gave her the website info. with hopes that she'll post updates. sent...
Thanks again for all your help....

So sorry that he became the way he did. But I am happy he didn't have to be put down. Hope your son wasn't too taumatizes by the ordeal. Don't really know if having a girlfriend would help though. I hope his new owner will keep us updated. Even though you don't have him any longer you are always welcome to visit and chat.

Thanks everyone. Ryan will be fine. He sure has learned his lesson for what he asks for tho. Yesterday was hard, specially before and after work. I'd always check on him, talk a while ect... The gals name is Allison (Ali) and I gave her the site information with hopes that she'll visit too. Iggy doesn't know how LUCKY he was that his vet wasn't in. (and me too) Just talked to Ali and she'll be visiting you guys sometime in the near future. She says Iggy is doing great and seems to be fitting in nicely. She's slowly introducing him to the others for short periods of time. I'm so happy for everyone involved for how this all has turned out. She really seems to like him and the same seems for Iggy too. All her kind words and praise is helping to lesson the heartache.

I tend to believe in fate. I feel it was meant for your vet to be out. I'm glad that it turned out so much better than the alternative. Just hope you will stay in touch.
