Hey they’re Chris
Sorry to here a about another abused reptile but I think if you keep on putting crix in the enclosure you guy will start eating them do not forget about the greens and veggie as well Breadies do need them make sure the crix a gut loaded for your guy. I would buy a UVB lamp for your guy right away they do need UV and raise the heat for him/her a sick reptile need heat and good UV the 10.0 Reptsin should do a good job for you!
But I am not a Breaded Dragon Guy I am a Iguana Guy So I well try to get more help for you!

Hello Chris, that was very nice of you to take in a neglected dragon, you have a good heart.
About the eating thing, if he is not eating the crickets then I would try some silkworms. One appropiate sized silkworm = about 3-4 crickets. They are alittle more pricey but well worth it. I would try those just to get him wanting protein and then you can try crickets in there as well. I feed crickets, silkies and thingyroaches to my dragons. Variety is key in their diet so you want to try to get him eating different things but I know that can be hard. I would also purchase the Rep Cal pellets that you can find at reptiledirect.com, those can also give him some of his protein. Are you feeding him his greens and vegetables every day, or atleast offering them?
About the lighting, the best lighting would be the Reptisun 10.0's (flouresent bulbs) running the length of the enclosure which you can also get from reptiledirect.com. And a regular house hold bulb (I use the 'spot' bulbs to focus the heat on one spot) for the basking spot. Now, something else thats very important. Are you giving him his calcium and supplements? You want to get the Calcium with Vitamin D3(which should be put on his greens or crickets/worms every day) and the multivitamins(which should be given once a week).
Good luck, and let me know how it goes=) Steven
