I have bought some shredded carrots and my dragons love them. I put some in their bowl along side some greens and they ate every bit of those carrots. Does anyone else feed their dragons carrots?

No, I dont feed my dragons carrots much at all. They are an occasional food item, so they should not be fed carrots everyday. Here, check out this food chart, it will tell you what to feed and what not to feed=) home.comcast.net/%7Eholachapulin/Nutrition.html

For the same reason you wouldn't give it often to an iguana. It has a moderate amount of oxalates which is not good. And it is high in sugar too. Although it is high in vitamin A, so occasional use would be good. With iguanas you can give some of the so call "bad" stuff if you mix it in Collards which has a high Ca to P ratio and low oxalate to Ca ratio. "Bad" stuff can be good if used sparingly and you compensate for it by including other foods. They provide other necessary nutrients and can be beneficial if used correctly. I am not sure with Dragons but with Iguanas variety is essential to a great diet.
