Do you have any newer pictures of the baby, Sarah? That one's pretty old now. It would be nice to see an updated one. Yes...I'm here, too...;-)

sorry just one of my vets said i should get him p2s and my reptile vet says no .he said he may always be this small but as long as he's comping he'll be ok.he's actually in a viv on his own and at one time no joke either he couldn't even walk 2 steps with his head up and after he walked two steps his back legs would splay out,and head would go down then his bum would go in the air.now he runs the length of the room ,still has 1 syringe feed most days as he occasionally licks at feed but cant pick it up on his own,pin head crickets he can sometimes catch i usually have to sqish them slightly so they cant run away from him as fast, giving little syd a chance to catch them.when he first hatched the vet said he'd live probably about an hour or 2 no longer.so he's doing very well.well i think so.its all down to him being a tough little(definitly little) fighter.he has only shed twice since he was born, once just feet and tail and top of head.and once about 6months ago he shed his whole body for the first time.plus his sight has come back a little his viv is well full of stuff for him to clibmb on .as for a long while he couldnt climb and if i put him anywhere on a log or something he's fall straight off.the last few months he's started trying to bask himself.i'll try and take some new ones tomorrow and post them.hopefully no one will say it's unfair to keep him.but everyones entitled to their oppinion, but my reptile vet said he's made an astonishing recovery.(sorry can't spell tonight).

the thingyatiel at the bottom is one of my babies he's 8weeks but cant fly has deformed feet.and cant cope with seed yet,but he's very lively.all my other babies are always ok but the little cutie had a problem obviously he has been in since 3weeks due to one of the others in box having a seriously broken leg.dont know how.he's a little lutuino lace wing and he was called king. thats one of my sisters boys with him he loved him but he dosent understand as he's profoundly deaf and 6 months ago underwent surgery he now has 2 implant.he went deaf overnight.but i have loads of chicks at the moment also lutino lace wings so i'm taming another one up for him,if he lived he was going have his legs seen to.but he wasnt strong enough.and he would of always been small.he had just started to flap his wings 3days ago.just before he was 8weeks,

Sorry I hadn't gotten back before now. I got your PM the day you posted...but I forgot to come back and comment. Syd is certainly a little fella...and I'm sure he won't get much bigger. In the wild he would have been one of the ones that were not meant to make it. Have you ever tried a probiotic on him? Boosting his gut flora may help a little bit...then again...there's so much visibly wrong that there may be just as much wrong on the inside. You've helped him stay alive much longer than nature intended. He's a lucky little guy that you love him so much...:-)

he managed to eat 2 tiny mealworms and 1 small cricket on his own,yay thats a huge step for big brave sydney(yes i know hes little well tiny actually)but hes my big boy.its a miricle he's survived.my vet said he should make it to near enough full size.but it may take a few years.yes i have tried probiotics with him.he has to have his eyes washed out everyday because they get bunged up abit.the vet(he's a reptile vet) said its probably cos his actual eyeball is smaller than the socket especially on one side.and if he grows he may be able to have surgery if im not happy cleaning them everyday sometimes twice a day. i said im happy to do that for deffinite as long as he's not in pain.and he's been running and climbing round his viv all day.i try and post a link to syds video's.i think personally he's made a brilliant recovery to what he was like before, and all because he's a fighter.

Its a great thing for you to provide a life for your beardie that was born with health problems. Did this dragon hatch in your care? You have done a great job raising this baby from its problems. Keep up the good work and never give up on him. As prism said he probably wont grow much bigger due to the fact that he is blind and brain damaged. Does he have alot of problems hunting his food? I see you fed him with a syringe. Nature didnt intend on this little guy to survive as he was born with health problems. Good ol natural selection LOL. Its unfortunate that he has these problems because Im sure if he didnt he would be growing at a much higher rate than he is now.

yes i know, and no way am i giving up on him. yes he was one of my babies hatched at home.there was 26 eggs.of which 24 hatched all were fine apart from 2 one hatched lived 2 days it was born with only half a tail.and the other was sydney.and just cos he has problems im not giving up on him.several people asked me could they have him,but i said sorry no as everyone i know says its stupid but i love the little boy, he's a miricle, his coordination is getting abit better.and i think he's starting to see a tiny amount out of one eye.as once i had cleaned his eyes as usual this morning i tried him of a tiny locust he ran like the clappers round his viv several times.then as usual his back end lifted up of the ground and his front end was flat on the ground also but he caught it thats the first time he's caught a cricket/locust without me either holding it or half squish it.but he did it.lol first time in a very long while.and no i am not going to give up on him unless he's in pain then i'd have to think.as i want whats best for him.i took a video of him chasing and eating feed the other day.cos he's so sweet he really is.i also hand feed him a couple of juvenille beardie pellets every day also cos he loves them.he now seems to be swallowing properly, cos at one point i used to have to let him chew then stroke his throat.as for some reason he couldnt swallow.at first i thought he swallowed something he shouldnt, but he hadn't .and yes he has a home with me for sure for as long as he is happy and not in pain.even if/when it happens he'll still be at home just not indoors.but hopefully syd's got a long life to live.
