He's very alert. That's a good sign. It's so cute the way his bum comes up.

i also think his vision is still quite bad as he tilts his head to the right when catching food and put his head to the ground as if he's trying to listen for the food.saying that though that was his damaged side, the vet said.but its only today he's caught the worms unaided, usually i have to put them in his mouth,i think he's got a good chance.i wondered if he'd be better on reptile carpet stuff.as he may be able to grip better,i just think he might get his claws stuck or knowing sydney he would try and eat the carpet, cos when i put him on the carpet in the room he tries to eat it.since he's been eating these mealworms he's put on a little bit of weight.i only know by holding him and looking at him.cant weigh him properly as it dosent register on the scales as its not enough.thanks yep he is so cute i know.but i think i did the right think giving him a chance.even though people i know say not.including other breeders of beardies i know.but considering he couldnt really walk, see, hear, climb, eat when he first had him,i think he's doing ok really.i mean when he first hatched he still had lots of yolk on him and a split down his belly from his egg sack that even when the yolk had gone which took 2 weeks.he had the split still there weeping for about a month.i bathed it gently as i didnt want it to become infected or anything. i thought maybe he'd hatched to early cos it seemed that way to me i checked the dates no he wasnt early.and all the other babies hatched within a few days after him were fine and ate well on their own, chasing their feed, and gaining weight rapidly.but not syd.but he's a special boy in my eyes.cos i don't think he would of survived otherwise.same as gizmo and all my others.they are all special though.i must add.just syd obviously wasnt meant to live.well i don't think so anyway, but im glad he did.i know he's got probs but he's doing well

This from what I have read and seen first hand is a common thing among BD breeders. Sometimes it takes a little while for the yolk to detach. Thats why most breeders will say to put a few paper towels at the bottom of the baby tanks and wet them so it doesnt rip off right away. The wet paper towels will slowly help the beardie remove the egg sac. The egg sac still usually has some nutrients left in it that could be helpful to the young baby beardie.

hi everyone, just to let you know sydney is possibly dieing, dont know why but its not unexpected really i suppose, since he's lived alot longer than he was supposed to.and despite all his problems he has come through most really well.this morning i fed him as usual and he ate a couple of tiny mealworms as usual.and seemed fine, then i went up to give gizmo her food and meds and sydney didnt look right, dont ask me why i just knew i took him out of his viv to check him over, his whole body looked twisted and his his back legs were twisted round each other. it looked really odd.i think it may be a stroke or fit or something, cos he seemed to get over it. then 2o seconds later he did it again, each time he did this he also chattered his jaw and attacked his own back legs and tail, and was biting hard, then i left him with heat pad but no light incase he was having a fit or something, seemed ok for about an hour.then again. im taking him to the vets tommorow if he's still live.cos i dont think its fair to keep him he seemed to improve well but if he's going to attack him self and loose all control of his body. What kind of life is he going to have.he brain damage and sight improved quite abit,he was even feeding himself.but obviously something has gone wrong again, well what evers meant to be.i will find out tomorrow.but i am not letting him suffer.if theres no treatment for whatever it is,but cos he's so small i dont know
