He does not eat. He does not bask anymore. He just looks very unhappy and its hurting me. I hand feed him greens whenever i come by her house but she doesnt feed him on a regular basis. I force her to buy crickets because she maybe gave him 20 in a month. She fed him iceberg lettuce for 1 year with the same uvb light. Temps sucked also. They are now 105-110 basking but the uvb is old. Her bearded does not even go to the bathroom anymore. II keep telling her to take him to the d**n vet but she wont. Thankyou very much, Anthony

www.reptileuv.comI would say you should go to the following website order a mega ray bulb for him and keep trying different foods because I know sometimes by beardies are picky when it comes to the veggies. I dont lie when I say this but mine have actually picked through the beardie food. they have the green pellets and the red pellets. they only eight the red ones. try feeding a pinky to him.

The Mega Ray will help, but he needs a regular diet and vet attention.
Pat's "Everything Reptile Supply" sells them also. I would get the Mega-Ray SB 100-WATT FLOOD LAMP.
Don't forget though that this is still brumation time. So his time schedule may be off a little and that would compound any illness he may have, which sounds like a bad diet.
Mine, during brumation have been waking up for a while and then just going back to sleep for a couple of days.
My beardies are on and off their feed during this period. Just keep offering different food items; i.e. dusted crickets, large meal worms, a good spring mix lightly dusted with calcium with D3 (you can find the spring mix in most grocery stores), fresh water. Try some butter worms or wax worms. Their a little higher in the fat content but it would help put some weight on him as well. If the diet has been way off you may want to consider a good vitamin along with the calcium.
He might even enjoy soaking in a warm bath for a little while and then basking under his heat lamp.
I would keep an eye out for weight loss and a fecal exam taken to the vet would help out, just to make sure. Take him to a good ARAV Vet for a good physical, by the photo he looks a little thin.
Tell your girl friend that like any animal, he/she needs to taken care of properly with a good a diet and attention. I find beardies to be very social and love attention.
Loneliness and a bad diet can kill.
If I can be of any help let me know.

I hope this gets through this time. I tried 4 times yesterday to post this message!!
During the cold months beardies over a year old brumate. If he wasn't allowed to brumate then he may have a harder time adjusting to the spring time, but then again...maybe not. I've always made sure mine brumated along with the people who adopted from me. I'm not really sure how a BD that was not allowed to brumate would truly react when it would normally come out of it.
It sounds like you gf needs to give up the BD. If she's not willing to give it the right care, and you are willing, see if she'll give you the lizard in hopes you can make it better. A vet's care is warranted, and you know that. Your gf can pay for the vet visit while you take it there...or you can go ahead and fork out the jack for it.
I would stay away from pellet foods...unless it the Rep-Cal brand. That's the only one I will ever recommend. And it's just a small addition and needs to be soaked lightly to keep from causing dehydration.
What kind of substrate is the beardie on? Even the sand can cause impaction and should be removed. If nothing else right now...hydration is the important part. If it's a sand impaction...the water will help flush it out if given continuously in small quantities through out the day. If it's more than sand...like bark...flushing could be life threatening.
It's nice weather right now. If the BD can get in the sun for no less than 20 mins a day...it will get the minimum recommended amount of natural sunlight/UVB. More, of course, is better. We all know a glass aquarium is a big no-no, but you might want to remind your gf just to be on the safe side.
Let us know how progress goes for you...and the beardie!!
