I thought I would introduce myself along with my lizards. I worked at a locally owned pet store as a teenager and fell in love with everything that came in the door. For several years I was the owner of 3 iguanas, 2 horned lizards, a tokay gecko, a chameleon, some birds, turtles & tons of fish. I ended up selling everything when I was expecting my first child. Since then we have had three. The youngest is allergic to most of planet earth. And being that I wanted us to have a pet, we adopted an iguana from someone that couldn't care for her anymore. She has been a great girl. Today I found this site while inquiring about her laying eggs. (she laid 22 today) I also have a bearded dragon that we adopted from our neighbors. It was about to die & they knew I had a lizard so they thought maybe I could help it. It couldn't walk, would have seizures and pass out. Several times I thought it was dead. I fed it for two months with a syringe a emergency powder food. Then for another month I would open its mouth & feed it crickets/greens. You wouldn't believe this lizard. It went from white and not able to move, to a beautiful color and it chases crickets & climbs! It has doubled in size since we got it in May. I measured it this week and it's now 13 inches. I have to take some new pictures of "him".

Hi Steph,
The photos you took of your iguana are wonderful, thanks for posting them. I especially like the first photo with the hat. That should be a cover photo for the forum.
I don't have an iguana, because in Maine they are illegal to keep. But I do have 6 beardies among other's, including my two russian tortoises.
My wife has about 20 or so ball pythons and a couple of Mali Uromastyx.
I'd love to see photos of your beardie and if I you have any questions about the beardie let me know.

Great pics! I'm thinking this is an ig destined for Halloween costumes...;-) I've had beardies for a short time. Maybe close to a year. They've been adopted out and have great homes. Sounds like you saved that one's life. Lucky lizard. The ones you work so hard to keep alive are the ones that hold a little extra specila place in the heart...:-)
Can't wait for pics...:-D

It took me a couple of days to get Yoda's photos up. The people we adopted him from had bought him last Aug. and he was very small then. (I say "him" but I have no idea!). We have had Yoda since May. It has been a long but great 5 months. To think how far this little lizard has come! His old owners got to see him the other day & couldn't believe his size. They think he has doubled. I'm not sure, because I see him everyday, but I do know he has grown a lot!

Don't you know to always keep the larger size and save the smaller sizes separately!!?? Geez...! Just kidding. I learned that several years ago though. I don't keep the original size on most pictures because I take pics on such a high res the file is enormous. I save those for the special ones. Most I resize to 800x600 though and when resized even more to avatar sizes I save with a different name so I still have the large size.
Cute beardie! I love their little faces...:-)

I am a freelance photographer, so I too have really huge files saved of EVERYTHING! My husband thinks I an clogging our computers with them!

I've been thinking of getting an external hard-drive just to store all the pics I have. I think it would be well worth the investment...plus it backs everything up in case of the devastating crashes that happen every now and again. Happened to me once...that was enough. The jump drives are coming out with pretty big storage capacity, too. The largest I've seen now is 4g!
