My first post on this board, here is a picture of my Iggypop, I'm so happy he's looking so good, I'm wondering if I should try a Mega Ray light, or do I leave well enough alone? Darlene

Well Darlene,
I myself love the MegaRay EB Flood Kit. I got into them about 18 months ago when Baby fractured her back. Even before this I suspected that my setup was inadequate. I had heard about them at GIS so decided to call ReptileUV. Someone named Bob got on and I asked about the MegaRays. He was so enthusiastic that I thought he was just a slick salesman. So I posted at GIS asking about the company and the salesman. Well they told me he wasn't a saleman and that I talked to the owner. They all vouched for his integrity. Said he was so enthusiastic because he cared about iguanas. He developed the MegaRays to help them and also to help pay for his extensive rehabbing activities. Then Baby fractured her back and it looked like Dragon may go into kidney failure. Well someone at GIS told me to call Bob for rehabbing advice. He told me the PowerSun was a good bulb if set up at 1 ft instead of 6. ZooMed sales people said it gave good UVB at even 6'. And taking them outside. Well I brought up the MegaRay and he said yes he believed that they would help my girls. So I ordered one. When I got it I left the PowerSun for a second basking spot. Well they both used the MegaRay and ignored the PowerSun. So I ordered a 2nd. Baby's fracture healed a lot quicker than the vet expected. Now I have one for Huff also. Dragon has improved a lot these past 18 months. She is a whole lot more active. She has less problems climbing the ramps. They both bask longer now than they used to under the PowerSuns.
When Stephanie's MBD iguana, RZ, that she rescued back 's curvature started to get worse. We got her to get a MegaRay and the curvature stopped.
But our iguanas have had health issues. And mine are over 13. Many healthy iguanas do fine under good quality fluorescents though. I do think they may do better under MegaRays. I think if people got meters they would be able to see better the difference in UVB given off.

IggyPop is looking terrific although he looks like he may be a grump. Huff gets that look when he wants to bite me which is almost all the time right now. He is very healthy and handsome. Welcome to the MegaRay fan club.

Not really, I still pet him when he looks at me that why, I think its the sound of the auto focus the camera makes, that he is not sure of. The other day at feeding time he climbed on my arm, and up my shoulder now that's a shocker !

Sampson would do that with the pet sitter but she was a lot taller than me. Huff I wouldn't trust near my face. He already has taken a hunk of animal protein from my chin. Huff is so different from the way Sampson was. But he is still my boy.
