Skittles is very cute...:-) One thing that is vitally important is to get him/her within 6" - 8" from the UVB light. Right now he is not getting any UVB as low as he is. Adding some fake plants from someplace like the "Dollar Tree" (many places have some kind of dollar store near) would add dome places for hiding and security.
The distance to the UVB is your main concern right now...AND getting a thermometer so you can be sure to get the temperatures right. If just one of those isn't right - it could lead to a very sick iggy...:-(

Hey there That is great that you are working so quickly to get things right for your little guy!! Heat rocks may be warm but they can actually harm your iguana. A heat rock doesn't have a regulator in it and it can get so hot to actually cook your iguana from the inside out or even suffer bad burns. So we tend to stay away from these types of heat offerings. Iguana's heat source should come from above just like it does in nature Skittles is a very cute looking TINY guy/girl. LOL I wish I had any of mine when they were that small! One thing I also notice in your picture is the size of that green bean in there. It is way to big and Skittles could choke on it. And we deffinatly don't want that to happen. When they are so small it is better to keep things finely chopped up to ensure they won't choke and it is easier on there digestive system to digest smaller things. When they are young. His/her shed looks like it is coming along wonderfully, just keep misting and that skin will fall off in no time Glad you are being a responsible iggy owner and doing things properly now rather than waiting till later when a problem arises. Great Job!! Keep up the good work!

Good catch with the green bean! I hadn't noticed it even after I looked at the food. YUp - as with the quick diet guide I offered - shopped small is definitely the best way, both for better digestion and dispersing nutrients in the right direction - and a choking hazard.
You are doing a fantastic job gettinf these things done. With all the little technicalities being taken care of - once everything has been tweaked you may very well have Skittles well into your 30s...:-)
