Scientific Name: Grammostola rosea

Range: Chile/Argentina
Type: Terrestrial
Adult Size: 4-5 inches
Temperature: 80-85 degrees
Humidity: 75%
Temperament: Usually docile but they have a wide range of temperaments and some are really aggressive. Ts like most inverts are best not handled anyway because of stress and danger.
Speed: Medium
Diet: Young can eat pinhead crickets,small roaches,or mealworms. Adults can eat large crickets,roaches,or superworms.
Housing: Adults can be kept in large critter keepers,5 gallon tank,or rubbermaid type containers. Young can live in small critter keepers or large deli cups.
Substrate: peat moss or peat/soil mix.
Additional info: G. rosea is the most common tarantula in the pet trade. Cork bark or logs make nice hides.

One quick point, Jason. Don't forget the water bowl! All tarantulas should have a small bowl of clean water. Avoid using a sponge in the water since this can grow bacteria and cause other problems. Also remember to remove any uneaten prey items if they haven't been consumed in 24 hours. If a tarantula is preparing to molt, the prey items can injure or even kill a vulnerable newly shed tarantula. Really and daughter
