She got me my first Tarantula. What a beauty! This is Harry the Red, a Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula bob <pictures resized to 75% or 50% depending on original's size>

Elizabeth says that the rosies like Harry are good starter spiders and so are most of the Brachypelmas (but they tend to be itchier). If you like Arboreals, Avicularia are great beginner spiders also. You can find them sold as "Pinktoed Tarantulas".

another quick question... do i have to worry about bites and all with a spider like this. I know lots of people are most worried about things like that...
