OK MY IGUANA STUMP HAS WHAT APPEARS TO BA AN ABSCESS IN HIS MOUTH... I TOOK HIM TO A VET AND THE VET TECH WASNT VERY HELPFULL... SHE SAID IT APEARS THAT HE HAS BEEN BITEN BY ANOTHER ANIMAL... THIS HAS BEEN IMPOSIBLE SINCE I HAVE HAD HIM WICH HAS BEEN FPOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS.. HE HAS HIS OWN ROOM WITH BASKING LIGHTS AND IT STAYS BETWEEN 85 AND 90 DEGREES IT THERE AT ALL TIMES... HE HAS A HYBISCUS TREE IN THERE HE LOVES TO HANG OUT ON AND HE APEARS TO BE EATING GOOD.. TIHS IS THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE HAD WITH HIM/HER (DONT KNOW WICH YET HE IS TOO YOUNG TO TELL)... BUT ANY WAY THE WHOLE LEFT TOP SIDE OF HIS JAW IS SWOLEN OND THERE IS SOME DRAINAGE GOING ON (CLEAR TO YELLOW) AND COME TO FIND OUT HE DOESNT HAVE ANY TEETH... WICH IS OK BECAUSE I CUT HIS FOOD UP INTO SMALL BITES ANY WAY.. I FEED HIM BANANAS, GRAPES, MUSTARD AND COLLARD GREENS, CARROT, GREEN BEANS, PEAS, MANGOS, HYBISCUS FLOWERS, AND STRAWBERRYS..... I CHANG THE MIXTURE EVERY DAY SO HE DOESNT GET BORED WITH HIS FOOD.... THE POINT IS HE IS GREENER AND FATTER THEN WHEN I GOT HIM.. HE HAS HAD CHECK UPS AT THE VET BEFORE AND EVERY THING WAS OK... BUT THE VET DIDNT DO ANY THING FOR HIM THIS TIME... I THINK THEY ARE WRONG... AND SEEING AS THERE ARENT ANY OTHER VETS LOCAL THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES I HAVE ACCESS TO... IF ANYONE HAS ANY ADDVISE OR CAN HELP ME AT ALL I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT....

Find another vet- You need one that can give you what it needs. As said...it sounds like an abscess. Antibiotics would help before it goes systemic. Sometimes it can be from it scratching it's own face on a branch, or hooking a toe when it gets an itchy shed. Here are some links to help you find another: www.herpvetconnection.comwww.arav.org <---click on "Members" www.anapsid.org/vetsTAKE IT OFF CAPS, PLEASE! For one it's very hard to read. For another...it's considered yelling in cyberspace... .
