Veronica, can you please post the link again to the plants that are ok to use in the iguana tanks? I know hibiscus is 1, but I was looking to add 2 live plants to Sir Emmy's enclosure. Adding the live plants will help with keeping the moisture in his tank and since it's Spring, it's much easier to find the tropical plants he needs. Again, thanks in advance (o: Dawn

Thank you Cham (o: We have a new restaraunt/garden store in town and they have the tropical plants. I tried to buy one last year, but missed the season for hebiscus. I'll print out that list and see if they have something on it that we can safely put in Sir Emmy's tank. About how long after the transplant do I need to keep it out of Sir Emmy's tank? I don't want to take any chances with him eating something that could harm him.

That's a great link. Our power was out for a day and a half so today I've been trying to catch up on all my forums. That'll teach me to spread myself out so wide...;-D
with a month of watering the chemicals should be flushed through the plant and be safe to put in the enclosure. Keep in mind that whatever you put in there may not last long. Whether it be from eating...or scrambling on...that plant has a slim chance of survival past a few weeks...:-D

We were blessed in finding our Hebiscus plant for Sir Emmy's tank. The man who grows them quarantines them for two weeks before sending them to the florists (he's a smart man) for people who decide to introduce them to their animals. Anyway, the plant was beautiful, flowers blossoming, green leaves; just absolutely beautiful. Well, we decided to introduce the plant to Sir Emmy on the 25th. After two days of ignoring the plant, he decided he'd give it a chance, and here are some pictures of the aftermath. (o: We've removed the plant long enough to regrow, when we will put it back in his tank. I think we should probably get two or three to rotate for him LOL. Anyway, without further ado, here's Sir Emmy, age 2 yrs., length unknown related to tale whipping the tape measure. We have also recently added a small electric waterfall to his enclosure. We'll see how long it takes for him to knock it apart (o:

LOL...oh...no...maybe this is more appropriate:
May we please have a moment of silence as the once beautiful hibiscus reaches its end by the claw and mouth power of the mighty lizard king...:-D
If you remove it for a couple of weeks it will recover a good amount of it's leaves...then you can place it in there again...:-)

LOL I am going to make a sign with those words and put it on the pot, with your permission (o: I took it out of his tank last night and put it back in the window. He gave me an evil look, it was just too funny. When it's full of leaves again, I'll take another picture. Sir Emmy will also be getting his dog back today. We took it out of his tank to wash and it got lost in the mounds of clean clothes that have been waiting on a chair to be folded. We found it last night, so I'll wash it up again and promptly give it back to him. lol

You don't need my permission...lol! Hopefully it's resurrection will be fabulous!
Zair never liked stuffies. At first he attacks them and then ignores them. It's like "ARGH! I'll teach you to invade!! Take that! Now that's better...just don't move and we'll be good." ;-D

LOL aftermath of the lizard! LOL thats a good one! That happened to one of my chameleons with a ficus tree. It was a VERY large tree as well but he managed to shred it up. Now I learned my lesson don't put the plants in with the chameleon! He looks really happy munching away on that plant for sure I'm sure he'll enjoy when it grows new flowers, they are very tastey from what i hear! LOL (I speak lizard sometimes) haha. I had a stuffie in with KooKie and he used it as a pillow. I really don't ever know what happened to it, I think I threw it out when cleaning his enclosure one day because it was filthy. Its funny how sometimes you can read what they are thinking. But Prism knows how to make it funny! He sure is getting big though! I remember when you posted pics of when you first got "her" lol. He's looking good and happy Keep up the good work!

LOL I've got his plant in my window slowly coming back to life. It should be ready for round two in a few weeks. It's hard for me to see how much he's grown until I put his pictures side by side. Then it's obvious lol Yeah, I think Sir Emmy likes "he" better than "she" lol He hasn't bit me since I've been calling him a boy. BTW, thank you both again for the help there. Poor lil guy would have grown up gender confused if it wasn't for the two of you. When I put his stuffy back on his shelf he wasn't too happy. Now he lounges on it like he used to lol We're going to be adding more shelves soon and things for him to climb on. He enjoyed climbing through the plant so I'll be looking for inexpensive things to add. With gas prices so high, we're now living on a limited budget lol Time to get bikes. I'll post pictures when that project is finished (o:

Dawn - I know what you mean about gas prices and the needs of our wards!! We've really needed to cinch our belts, but the beasts still need what they need. Heck - we haven't even been to a movie in 3 months!

Oh most definitely (o: Please don't think he's not getting what he needs lol He's just not getting as much of the luxury I'd like him to have. Between his ramp and screen he get his exercise, I'd jut like to be able to give him a little more.

On the link given above - I noticed that it said pothos is safe, but under ivy it says only grape and swedish. Pothos is any ivy. Is is really safe? I want to put a large pothos and train it to wind around My girl's tree branch. I don't want to give her something that will harm her.
