My iggy Xeno used to be really relaxed in his cage and very easy to handle. But the past 2 weeks he's gotten verry jumpy and gets startled when I come near his cage. He starts to jump around in his cage and I'm afried he'll hurt himself. When I want to take him out he tries to run and yesterday he even tried to hit me with his tail, something he's never tried before.

Has anything changed in his environment? Any new animals that he might feel threatened by? A plant moved in another place?

What kind of plants did you add to the enclosure? Have any of them been eaten? He could just be getting into that "teenager" type behavior. My boy before I got him the past owners said he was always nice, but when I got him home he was nice for a short time then he wasn't the nicest anymore. But every day they need a routine of touching and handling. They do tend to get scared as there instincts start to kick in when they are small and this makes them try and flee from us or protect them selfs. Please reply on what types of plants you've added and hopefully they were on the safe list Hope to hear back

They are fake plants. He hasn't tried to eat them.
