I live in south carolina where rat snakes are extremely popular. A few weeks ago we had a baby rat snake in the house. Thanks brzlnsk8r. It's enough to freak me the heck out. I don't do snakes well. Lizards are awesome, but snakes and spiders totally not ok in my house lol

Hey Dawn, That is a gorgeous snake!!! Expecially for a wild one! I also think it is some type of rat snake. Although I am no wild snake expert! So don't count that we are 100% right on that one. Rat snakes are beautiful snakes and are USUALLY great to humans, although of course will bite if scared. Too bad some of the pics are blury, but still a very nice find I as well have had an encounter with a snake recently. He was trying to get in my front door. I have a few pics i'll post them some time

My husband said it looks just like a rat snake that was hanging out on a friend of his golf cart. It wasn't aggressive in the least bit. It tried to get away and succeeded. It hid under the shed. I don't mind them staying outside as long as they don't hurt the dogs. So far this year I've seen two. The first was a baby rat snake and it was in my kitchen and I totally freaked. It was playing with my cat. This one had the dogs going crazy. I was very shocked at how long it was. Anyway, next time I'll try not to shake so much lol Thanks for posting (o:
