Hey everyone!
Just wanted to let you all know that Patrick and Denise came to visit me in Ontario, Canada last week. They drove 4 hours north from Cleveland, Ohio USA on Monday July 7th. They returned home on Wednesday July 9th.
When they were up here they got a call that there Rhino iguana Bronx had ripped through the metal screening on her window and had escaped into Cleveland. This was not long after they had left. Denise's son Josh was hot on Bronx's trail but she escaped him and 4 other helpers to catch her. As night fell being an iguana Bronx found somewhere close to hide and sleep it out. Tuesday Josh finally got a hold of Patrick (as some american cell phone company's don't have service in Canada) and they were very concerned about Bronx's state of physical health. She had fallen two stories to the ground, which no one witnessed. Since they agree'd to say one more day, I took them to Colisanti Tropical Gardens. They grow green house plants there, of almost any shape or size. Denise found some Hibiscus plants that she liked as they were a yellowish pink color but you are not allowed to take the plants across the boarder. (maybe you might be hauling drugs in the plant dirt....) While we were there we checked out the animals. They have all kinds of animals there Lemur's, miniture goats, guinea pigs, deer, turkeys, lama's, chickens, fish, a wide assortment of birds, Tarantula, Crocodiles, Alligators, Tortoise, Red Eared Sliders, 1 yellow eared slider, Bearded dragons, small snakes as well as large snakes, soft shelled turtles and bats. They used to have a small exhibit for a few small iguana's. But as we were walking around we spotted two very healthy large female iguana's just walking around in the animal section of the place. They were climbing in the trees and I'm sure they would have a swim sometime with the turtles in there ponds. After awhile wandering around there, they got introduced to there first Canadian Thunder storm. The clouds were really dark and it rained like crazy. Not long after it stopped raining but that didn't stop us from BBQ'n in the rain. We had some drinks and it was to bed with us all. Wednesday morning Pat and Denise were over before noon and were on there way home. No problems at the boarder and a quick crossing the bridge. On the way home they went. I received a call from Denise after they crossed the boarder as the cell phones got service right away. I then asked her if she would call me when they got home. It took a few hours then I finally got a call from Denise and they were home safe and sound and so was Bronx. She was only a few houses down and was happy to come back home. After trying to escape from her hunters yet again!
So all in all it was a good trip minus Bronx escaping, but at least they did find her and she was unharmed. I'm hoping they enjoyed there trip to Canada and to return again some day. I think it was a good break to get away from the city, but I deffinatly think its too much country for Denise to live with! LOL just glad you guys had a good time and wanted to let everyone know you made it to Canada.
I will post a few pictures of the iguana's we saw and one of the cool storm clouds when we exited the Gardens.
