Hey there,
That is a very unique looking new addition you have there. I have not heard much about red iguana's so I looked it up and didn't find much of anything. I'm assuming they are just a color morph of a green iguana? Anyone know?
Very cute though

Nice looking iguana! ChamZilla, you are right about the color morphs. On the list of this website you can see red iguanas: www.reptilerepublic.com/index.phpthey show yellow, blue, white (snow) ones also (list on left). Not sure but the yellow ones might be albino. They are all green iguanas (iguana iguana) I have heard about a black coloration also. Reptile Republic is just another name for Fluker Farms from what I could tell. www.flukerfarms.com/tour/elsalvador/index.htmSean

How beautiful.
I've heard raising the albinos is very difficult. Think about it-- you have an animal with UV requirements who is very sensitive to the sun!

Yeah I could see how that would be difficult, my great dane has albinoism. He is supposed to be a Harlequin but doesn't have many spots and he is deaf with bluish white eyes. He is also sensitive to the sun and needs to wear sunscreen if exposed for long periods of time. On his ears and his snout. Could you imagine if he/she (iguana) needed sunscreen. LOL very odd
