I have my juvenile in a 10 gal tank but plan to upgrade after we move in a few weeks. He has a nice place to bask under a uvb light and a black light for night. I have monitored it and the temps are what they should be night and day. But I don’t have a regular basking light just the uvb-a light. My Q is, will my ig be ok with a uvb for basking in place of a incandescent as long as the temps are good? Or do I need a plane light bulb (incandescent) to add to the uvb light for basking even though he doesn’t need the extra heat?

Hi, What kind of UVB light is it? The mercury vapor screw in type? or is it florescent?

Hi tonywayne, Sounds like you are on the right track to your iguana's care. Could you tell us what brand of light you are using like sean46877 had asked and that will help us determine if this light is sufficient or not. Also what are you using the black light for at night? Let us know the answers to these questions and we will be able to help you better Also feel free to post pictures of your set up and your iggy and if there is anything that needs tweeking we'll tell you what it is Moving is exciting, but can be very stressful for some iguanas Just to let you know
