hey there, well I'd have to say that is a pretty good home made PVC enclosure. I am concerned a little about the doors though, How come they bow so bad in the middle? May just be like that in the photos. And I was also wondering what kind of screening you used? Other than that looks pretty homey. You should probably upgrade to the megaray's some time. One for each of them. If you get the self ballested ones they throw off a little more heat and you may not need a basking light as well. But you need a probe thermometer to tell that. Do you have a thermometer in each side on the basking spots? This way you know for sure that the temperatures are steady every day. Good job though

yeah i have the thermometer and humidity gauge in both sides .. yeah the doors are bowed a little when my brother put the ties on the screen to tie it to the pvc but they cant get out cause of the wood strip in the middle and i also have a lock in the middle as well as the tops and the bottoms of both sides.. i will check on the mega rays for them see how much it will cost cause i need 2 of them cause my big one is doing realy good in his cage the lighting is 12in away from him and the temp is good Zeus is getting his first vet visit today to see how's he is doing ....

hey there,
that is good that she gave you some stuff to force feed him. But what exactly is it? Some vets offer animals protein based foods. Just wondered what your vet chose. Just be sure when you do, do it... open his mouth and you will see the "hole" just behind his tongue. Be sure you don't get anything down that hole (try not to) or it will exasperate him (suffocate him) Sometimes this is hard to do, but it will be very bad if you don't. Also how many cc's did she tell you to feed him at one feeding?
I hope he starts perking up soon. You should also still offer fresh foods just in case he wish's to eat on his own. Fruits are good to entice them to eat sometimes, or offer some shredded veggies as well. This is good to get an animal that won't eat to eat but shouldn't be done on a daily bascis for a healthy iguana.
Let us know how it goes with Zues...

the vet gave us a canned food from ZuPreem its the Iguana diet. the crude protein is 5%, crude fat is .5%. crude fiber is 3.5%, and moisture is 74.5%. we actually were told to feed him as much as speedy when we had to force feed him so it was 4cc per feeding, there is always fresh fruits and veggies in there for him to eat. the vet also told us until we see him atleast seem intrested in his food to feed him 2-3 times a day till he picks up. he seems to be getting there slowly but surely, hes basking and running around his cage but we havent seen him go near his food yet so what we are doing is taking a half cc out each feeding so that he might get a little hungry between feedings and eat the food offered. as far as the hole he only gets less than a half cc each time we open his mouth so we give him time to swallow his food and kind of relax its about a 20 minute ordeal but atleast we know hes eating on a schedule so at feeding times he sort of knows whats going to happen. he seems to know we arent going to hurt him so he calms down when we do handle him and while we feed him he is also getting tamer.

Hey there, That sounds like pretty good advice then. Its good that you are taking your time and that he kinda knows that you are helping. They do get used to force feeding pretty easy, but they do get dependant on it sometimes. Just be sure since he is in not perfect health, it is good that you did the small cut back on the feedings, just make sure you weigh him and be sure he is gaining weight. Even if its over a week or so. Just make sure he doesn't loose any. You can do this by getting a mail scale at walmart or something. They should be like 20$ or something. I don't have one but I do take my iguana's to the local animal hospital to weigh them. Just to be sure they are still at healthy weights. Keep us updated on him though, and you should post a few pictures of him We love pictures
