Hello everyone. I just adopt a baby iguana. But what concerns me is that it has small brownish crusty patches on the skin. Some say it s skin shedding but it looks more like parasites/germs accumulating. It doesnt look that serious though. Its been three months and it doesnt show any sign of the parasite spreading. Hes got quite an appetite for a baby iguana and is very alert. Which means it s not sick aswell. Any idea what is it? I will post pictures soon. Thank you

Hello and welcome!! I could help you out better if I got some clear photos. Cell phone photos just don't do very well... but any photo is better then a blind guess. Waiting anxiously for your photos. And good job adopting the little one, but I hope you did your homework

PS Make you Zoom level lower to your internet page. It makes the pictures clearer suprisingly

Hello, thanks for the photos, but they are still not good enough quality even small for me to see any detail of what exactly they are. From these blury photos it could either be mites or a fungus. Sometimes the fungus's don't spread like you think they would.... Please try and get clearer ones.... your little one may just need a quick visit to a qualified herp vet for a check up. Yes mine have been to the vets for checkups as well. Try better photos first though please

Sorry i had to use my phone camera. my digital cam got bust. it is fixed now. I will get more photos. One more thing. I noticed the skin is start peeling off slowly. And i noticed they are no sign of infection underneath the peeled skin. I will still post pictures anyway to make sure.

A vet check up would be a very good idea. Please let us know.
