ok I got it to work I just cut some of the other text out. SOO... a few questions... Does he get around perfectly fine? Jumps fine? climbs fine? runs? swims? Moves his head around fine? Does his whole spine bend or is that part of the spine like "stiff" and it doesn't bend anywhere near that bump?
I would also like a few more photos of it.... I need one from above him straight on..... and another of the other side... and one from the front if you can get one of him when he is asleep with his head down lower than his back.
Hope to hear back...

Also looking at that photo he is dehydrated..... that skin fold he is showing along his side shows he isn't as "plump" as he should be. Mist down his food with water and maybe give him a bath everyday.... IF he poops/urates in the bath obviously drain it clean it and put him back in. Can't wait for the other photos...

Hey there, Thank you for posting the new photos of your little guy I think your little one may need to see a reptile vet. I am looking really strong in that direction. The bump on his jaw either look's like some kind of abcess that is starting or some kind of goiter. Which neither can have at home treatment. Maintenance can be done at home but not diagnosis and first treatments. Here is some info on them (goiters) www.merckvetmanual.com/mvm/index.jsp?cfile=htm/bc/171406.htm down about half way... and it will have some photos of iguana's with big goiters, which they do get bigger if not treated by a vet, BEFORE it gets to big. If it gets to big and thats what it is, your iguana won't be able to swallow after awhile...... I'm wishing you guys luck and let me know how you make out please. hoping you get to the bottom of the bump!

I went to Dr. Rossi's today and he told me that he hurt his back probably by tail whipping which he commonly did when we first got him and that the bump on his chin is bone swelling, the reason for the swelling is that not all of his bones are getting the calcium needed to function because, all of the calcium is going to the fracture in his back.He also gave him a vitamin D shot and gave us a calcium liquid to give him orally. Thanks for the concern, Alex

Hello Alex,
Thanks for getting back to us about your little one. I was asking earlier if your iguana could move his back half for that exact reason. SOMETIMES they can get bumps on there spines which are not breaks BUT I do have an iguana who is half paralyzed from breaks in her back. I have to manually poop her by rubbing her belly and she can't move her back half hardly at all. But to her there is nothing wrong with her... she tries to jump off the couch and the whole deal.
Hoping this helps your guy.... and I'm GLAD you did bring him to the vet. As obviously something else serious was going on with him. I'm hoping he makes a quick recovery. Did you ask the vet if he is at high risk for MBD (metabolic bone disease) now? Just wondering....
Hope to hear on his progress as he heals up!
