Hey everyone, well I am back to my accident prone self! I got burned on my CHE while cleaning up RZ's enclosure. I just wanted to make sure that when or if you get burned that you keep the area clean and dry. Also it helps to run a fresh burn under cold water for a few minutes. Don't cover up the burn as they need air to heal. Apply some aloe vera plant or some antibiotic cream. The ointment won't let the burn breath very well. Also when it pops clean the area well again and apply some more cream. Be sure not to pick at the scabs or touch the burn with dirty hands. My neice just got very ill from a blood infection cauzed by a minor burn from a cookie sheet on her wrist 2 weeks ago, and was hopitalized with Scarlet fever for 24 hours in isolation. So please be careful no matter how minor the burn is.

OUCH! Even the small ones can hurt pretty badly. At work we deal with 350 degree injection mold presses. All it takes is a small brush and you're burned. Good advice for aftercare. For those that have CHEs...there is another alternative. reptileuv.tripod.com/megaheat.htm. Believe what the advertisement says. It takes some getting used to. It's a heat projector...not just an emitter. It focalizes the heat into a small sustained area. It does get hot, but does not create the burns a CHE does.
