I dont know if any of you have ever had a problem with bugs called "Box Elder" bugs, but i cant get them to go away. They are all over the outside of my house in the summer and then when it gets cold out they come inside the house( no matter what, they'll find a way) Well, seigns cage is in my room and of course, his cage is a constant heat source. They flock to his cage, i kill tons of them every day. i spray outside my house and i even tried putting up fly traps(lol, i actually caught some on there). They dont seem to be bothering Seign much, but they bother me. i wont even sleep in my room anymore because i dont wnt them crawling all over me. i read up on them and i found out that they are pretty much harmless excpt for being annoying. i read that spraying soap water on the outside of your house will stop most of them frmo coming in. i am going to try it tomorrow. here's a couple pics of what they look like.i hate em i hate em i hate em!!!! Anyone know any other good ways to help keep the pests outta the iggy's cage( or possibly outta the house)? They're driving me nuts! thanks.

I don't know if this will help but, you may want to keep his home clean and after each cleaning use provent-a-mite.
I don't know if this will work but it's worth a shot. Just make sure you follow directions and don't use this spray on the iggy. Ventilate before the iggy uses his house.
If you use a soap spray on his and your house, just make sure it's not harmful to iggy.
I used to just make up ivory soap and water mix and use that on my roses. Seemed to work until the rains washed it away.

Well I would try the soap water to but other then that I do not know what to tell you. I do not like bugs in the enclosure either! There were so many Fruit flies in Huffs Enclosure that I had to move the Girls upstairs with me and Huff to the Girls Enclosure. I am using vinegar in a bowl with a cover on it with holes poked in it to get rid of them.

Hey for the fruit flies your supposed to use APPLECIDER vinager not household vinager. You can also use some fruit dropped into a bottle with scran wrap on the top and poke small holes in with a safety pin or toothpick. Thats what we do here.
As for those bugs, I can't help you too much. The big thing is make sure there are no holes around your windows on the outside of the house where they can crawl in. If bugs can get in then so can the cold. Maybe you should meniton it to your dad or landloard or whoever owns the house you live in. Bugs have to have a way of getting in. If you stop the way they get in you stop the bug problems.
Wishing you luck!
