Hello from Larry from Indianapolis, I think I have a problem, my Georgie our Iguana, might turn out to be a Georgett, the reason I am saying that we found what we think is a egg, it has the same coloring from what information I looked up.the major problem is we really don't have the money to take him or her to the vet, we found only one, what should we do, if any one can help please call me at 317-431-2756 or email me at noharm1@indy.rr.com,please

Very sorry you haven't been answered yet. This was important and could possibly be deadly if not taken care of. If there is one egg in there...there are more. An xray needs to be done. If you take in an animal...any animal...you have to be prepared to take it to a vet. That is just being responsible. The xray is to determine if there are more eggs left in there. Typically, all the eggs should be laid within several hours. One egg is not normal for an ig who is healthy. Stress, dehydration, no UVB, etc., can contribute to not being able to lay all the eggs in a timely fashion. Hopefully...3 days later...your ig will have laid more. Hydration is extremely important. This helps lubricate. Once you know there are no more eggs...again...to find out if she laid them all...she will need a calcium regimen to boost her levels back where they need to be. Just a very small amount on her food will do. www.anapsid.org/resources/rxdose.html#calciumTo find a vet...and one may even work with you on payments...try these links: www.herpvetconnection.comwww.arav.org <---click on "Members" www.anapsid.org/vets

I also agree with Veronica, Larry. My vet does payment plans, so you might be lucky and find one in your area that will do the same Good luck and let us know how it goes
