Well I got my Rhino Iguana (Digger) over this last weekend. We got home late saturday night and while I waited for his bedroom to open I evicted the baby iguanas from their big enclosure and put Digger in it for a few minutes so I could get him out of his carrier. So I offered him some food and here you have him eating in this picture.
He's in a real real big bedroom now. He's doing well so far. I did go up to the bedroom this morning to feed him and he moved himself and hid in a corner trying to flee me.. this will take me a few months but I think he'll be just fine. He's a good boy, and is in pretty good health. He ate the first night I had him but has not eaten toomuch since. he ate a few small bites of a large collard leaf I offered but thats it.
I think in a few days here he'll pick up and chow. I offered him a large salad today with collards, mustard and turnip greens with grated carrots, some papaya, chopped green beans and I mixed up all of this... Put this on his large cookie tray I feed him with and I topped it all off with grated butternut squash. He looked at it when I fed him before I went to work and I seemed to have gotten his attention. So hopefully I'll go home and see he ate some of the food. He got a VERY large portion of food I'd be impressed if he could eat it all.
I of course gave that same diet to my greens as well as my bearded dragon.

Yes congrats on your new addition. He seems like he is a larger iguana already. How big/old is he? He's lucky to have found someone as caring as you. Good luck with him and maybe him and Patricks girl Bronx could be friends some day! LOL Keep us informed on his eating habits and hopefully he settles in quick and starts eating more. Hey there Digger! From RZ and KooKie

I was told he is 7-8 years old. He's definitely male if I approach him he sticks out his stuff at me, sucks it back in and sometimes will instead just poop on the floor. He's upset with the change in environment I suspect. I told Marie that Patricks girl would be very pleased to see what Digger has to offer but I guess Patricks not interested.

Patricks girl is only a few months old as of right now, so in the future maybe it would be good for her

Well he's definitely one smart lizard. He seems to be very perceptive of his suroundings. So far things are going ok. He slowed down on eating the last few days, though. Possibly re-location stress or winter blues or both.. oh plus he's in the middle of his breeding season so I have winter blues, relocation stress, new owner stress and breeding season stress all at the same time. Plus poor diet before I got him.
