Here is the link to the new enclosure that dh is building for Kismet. It's a temporary one until she is larger and needs a room and then it will be a basking cage. We were really having a hard time trying to figure out what to do but when we first evacuated from Katrina we used all these design cubes for furniture until people donated stuff. Amazing what my dh can do with grates and PVC pipe! It's approximately 61X30X30 share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8IbNWLFyxcvNgReallySusan

Mike is arranging it so that we can use it inside or outside because it comes apart with bolts that are easy for human fingers to undo. He was also careful to put all of the rough edges to the outside to keep Kismet safe inside. Eventually, it will hopefull be part of a larger outside complex, once we move into a house where Kismet could have her own room or a room with two big enclosures so that she and Mayan (my green) can share an area when it's not breeding season, but still have the safety of enclosures when they aren't supervised.

Well that sounds like a terrific plan. Mike seems like he is very handy. LOL. You have a very pretty daughter too. She seems to be having a great time there. Love to see how things come along as you get settled.

Thanks Marie. She is a good kid and well versed in animal husbandry. I think we'll keep her. After all any kid who scrubs enclosures is a keeper.
Meanwhile, I need to figure out why Kismet keeps pooping on her bed. <sigh> I'm having to constantly wash it.

Oh yeah, and Mike is very handy. He's also brilliant and I'm quite proud of the way he took stuff he already had and created something new!

You do have a great family--human and nonhuman. Could Kismet be upset about something? Have you tried tubbing her?

THose are some neat o photo's, and yep that is one cute daughter you have there. She looks like a great kid, really gettin "into" the project! LOL And I have to agree Mike looks pretty handy. Maybe you could buy one of those mattress covers (plastic ones) that people use for bed wetting kids and put it overtop of her bed and blankets. I had to do that when my one cat decided to pee on my bed instead of her box. After I did that she slowly learned that the box was for peeing not the bed. Is your ig jealous of your daughter for some reason? Or could he/she be trying to show dominance over her? Could be a lot of reasons, maybe Kismet shouldn't be allowed in that room anymore then. Its hard to break bad habbits sometimes. But I wish you luck and thats a great idea for an inclosure, the metal pieces are those stackable shelfs that you make which ever way you want? I think they are just wondered if thats what they really were. Ok good luck talk to you again sometime
