My friend went to Costa Rica and took some pictures, some of them of lizards. I am interested to know if some of them are Iguanas. They seem different from the greens, at least one has black legs. And at least another one is not an Iguana. Have a look. The full gallery is gal.mastre.com/Costa-Rica-2006-Pura-Vida, the lizard pics are on pages 4, 5, 6 & 7 - if you click twice, you will get to the full-size image (larger than below). Pic 1. What are these? Pic 2. This looks like some sort of Iguana, with black legs. Pic 3. Some sort of monitor? Pic 4. That's gotta be a statue!

Hey Duke,
They are one of the Spiny Tail iguanas (Ctenosaura). They are very common there. They can be very bitey--more aggressive than the greens.
