:)At a recent reptile show my wife purchased her first Kingsnake. What a gorgeous snake. He is all black, almost iridesent blue/black. The question I have other than the countless care sheets you find is your personal advise or quirks I should look out for. I would also like to know if it's normal for the snake to be constantly in the water, nearly all day. Could it be time for it's shed? Thanks Bob and Michelle If you want to see it's picture go to: stano40.tripod.com/thelizardcorral/id25.html

long periods in water could indicate it has mites do you see any black dots on the surface of the water and they are incredibly hard to see in all black snakes what substrate you use? switch to newspaper or plain white kitchen towel and youll be able to see the mites easier lee

I am sorry Bob I missed the Question But Lee is right Mites are a big problem with Snakes I have heard you may want to check the Enclosures as well for them. I would check for that first then maybe watch for it to be shedding
