Well, I did what I preach not to do, I brought home some animals I have never researched. My son was given some golden geckos for helping a vender I know at the reptile show yesterday. I currently have them in a 40 gallon breeder. I covered the top to keep in the humidity. I have about 4 inches of cypress mulch for substrate, some sticks to climb on, a shallow waterbowl and a regular 60 watt light in one corner. Tell me what changes I need to make and why. I have to know why, I don't do anything without a reason.

I started out with this same breed unfortunate for us he passed in a fire before I really got off the ground with his care...
The tank size you have sounds good since I know you can keep them solo in smaller tanks
basically I know they like humid climates and substrates I have read that were recommended were moss or that bed a beast stuff... just not the bark like I was originally told...
they don't need uvb so the light you have as long as their desired temps of 78-85 are there then that should work well with what you have... That is all I was using!!
I know Collin has geckos so maybe he will stop in and give any pointers or sugggestions since he has more experience... I know there are a few other members with various breeds of geckos
Hope it goes well
