Michelle and I are not too happy with this shipment of 9 ball pythons. This is what we were supposed to receive. 3.0 late 2005 50% possible het for VPI axanthic 1.0 2005 high yellow around 400 grams 0.1 late 2005 50% possible het for VPI axanthic 0.2 2005 (1 high yellow and 1 aberrant pattern) 0.1 2003 normal around 900 grams 0.1 1998 normal last weighed 2470 grams 2 weeks ago. Pr oven breeder having produced the 50% possible hets. She was bred to a 100% het for VPI axanthic maleThe box evidently was shipped as a normal shipment not as a live animal shipment through UPS. would have preferred No air holes in the box. The box was only marked fragile. The two largest girls were placed in a snake bag together. the two high yellows and the aberrant pattern were in their own plastic shoe box. That leaves the rest (4) were in the other plastic shoe box. The shoe box's only had tiny air holes in the lid. I don't think that is adequate for shipping. when we opened the box it had a bad odor. two plastic shoe box's were on their sides and a snake bag was in the middle pretty much covering the air holes of the shoe box's. No styro foam was used to line the box or shredded newspapers used as a packing material. No heat packs were found. These snakes came out of the box blue. The odor came from the one shoe box that housed 4. Of which two were dead. Most likely frozen to death and lack of oxygen. Michelle and I are gonna give them warm water to soak in, in order to hydrate them. They will be kept in a quarantine area and monitored on a daily basis. One of the little ones came out gasping for air and very blue. I'll try to keep you posted on the progress of these guys as they get warmer and hydrated. bob photo resizing done

That is terrible. Sorry about the 2 dead ones. Hopefully that will be the only casualties and you can get the other's up to par. Have you ordered from them before?
Good Luck and keep us posted please.

No, I have not ordered from them before and I will not in the future.
I am running all the emails and photos about this on The Lizard Corral Forum if anyone is interested.
Just look at my signature and click on the lizard corral forum link, then go to the ball python board to view the posts about this shipment.

The new excuse from the seller is that he didn't ship the snakes like that and is going to check out at the UPS store why someone changed his packaging.
Like, someone is going to purposely change the packaging.....yea, right.

I know this guy is blowing a smoke screen and so far he has not answered any email I have been sending him. He got his money & sent the snakes with a "I don't care how they get there as long as it saves me money' attitude.
At least I have the ball pythons and he doesn't. I guess I could have ended up with nothing.
I am still sad about the death of the other two babies. Especially after seeing a third very blue looking baby literally gasping for air.
That was just cruel.
It's people like this that ruin it for honest people wanting to ship their snakes through UPS. I don't know what policies UPS has on live shipments but I bet this would be another nail in the coffin for "Live Shipments.
Fedex and DHL are the two best carriers for live shipments.
Bells should have rung off in my head when he wanted payment via Western Union. I found out this is a scammers best way to get your money. Plus, it cost us another $59.00 western union charge to send him the money.
I'm just wondering now if this guy is double dipping by having insurance on the package. He shipped it through one of those stores that supposedly ships through UPS. I didn't see any insurance charges on the box.
This whole deal was from Fauna Classifieds, where he had the ad. As much as I don't like Fauna for its bashing of people I still would like to warn them of this guy. Supposedly he is getting out of the business.
Lets all hope this is the last we will see of this guy and he stays out of the trade business.

Hey Bob
I would still pass it around, so no one else get caught up in the same mess that you ended up in. Yea that is pretty bad when they cannot get the product to you in nice condition but live and learn and advise other people of the guy’s practices
I do not do live animals but I do know that usp does not change boxes for nothing. I have heard that DHL has also lost packages in some cases and FEDX is the best so far that I have heard of, on live animal shipments. But I am sure they have lost shipments as well, no one is prefect.
But it is the idea of the whole think! The Snakes were not packaged right from the get go and they died! Right there is the thing and you have a right to some kind of refund.
It is sad that you had that happen to you and the animals but you’re probably right the guy was out for the money and really did not care about the snakes. That is why the guy probably wanted the money western union and not on a card so you could not dispute the charge!
Well, I still hope you let everyone know about this guys business practices so it doesn’t happen to other people. The best way to get back at this guy is word of mouth. Especially if he is doing things on the Web, he will not be in business to long.
Well that all I have to say on that! Patrick

This is what I sent to Fauna.Hello, I would like Fauna know of a bad deal that was advertised through Fauna Classifieds. This was the original link to the ad. www.faunaclassifieds.com/pp_classifieds/showproduct.php?product=19464&sort=1&cat=all&page=1 When I got the ball pythons they were not packaged the way a live animal should be packaged and the snakes were suffering from extreme cold and lock of oxygen. Two had died during shipment. When the seller was contacted he maintains that someone else had re-packaged the snakes and is going to look into it. So far I have not heard from him and have been asking for a refund on the two dead snakes. Which I believe is very fair. This is the seller information: Phil Hernandez<mrredsdesigns@yahoo.com> Here is my full contact infomation: Phil Hernandez 267 Freda Ave. Pomona, CA. 91767 909-626-6940 If you would like to review the situation I do have everything posted on the lizard corral forum at this link. thelizardcorral.proboards67.com/index.cgi?board=ballpython&action=display&thread=1145980182 I didn't know where to post about this problem or if fauna would wwant to know about this matter. If you would like additional information please contact me. Robert Stano MSTANO@maine.rr.com
