A friend of mine told me about this guy that had one and was severely mistreating it (feeding it about once a month instead of once every 2 weeks or so) and some other stuff, but im picking it up tonight, i was going to get it yesterday, but it was raining out and the truck we had to move the cage wasnt able to drive in the rain.
Im getting it tonight though, and will be taking care of it.
Ill Post some pics ASAP.
As soon as i get the snake and it digests the food (rat) then ill take it to a Vet and get it all checked out and all. I can tell about some basic problems such as irregular feeding and such, but otherwise it seems like it has just been neglected.
the snake is 6 years old (mother) albino and (father) normal making it look simply amazing. (looks like the snake in the zoo from the movie Harry Potter kind of.
oh and BTW im still getting the iguana but keeping them in seperate rooms

Thats good that you are taking that snake in! Its sad how they are treated sometimes. I hope he fits in well and gets healthy. If you have any questions or need help, just let me know.

Steve,
Glad you are getting the snake and the iguana. Too bad these roommates can't help with the rent. But they will probably still be better roommates for you. Good luck and keepus updated and ask any questions.

just a quick reply congrats on the rehome royal python they are a wonderful snake and i have hours of pleasure watching them slither around the viv just 2 things I'm not sure what the heating and what have you is like in the USA but here in the UK we avoid heating royal vivs with spot lights it is irritating to the snake that likes to sleep through the day time(royals are nocturnal), when the spot light would be on. personally i use ceramic overhead heating attached to a pulse stat, it gives out no light and heats the viv wonderfully. but if you do like to have a bit of light then go for a true red bulb as its apparently not seen by reptiles. also another thing, royal pythons are very shy and take a while to adapt i recommend not handling him for 5 consecutive feeds apart from general cleaning out and feeding etc, this allows the guy to get used to the new smells and his new viv without the worry of a strange smelling hand picking him up and scaring him, this will also help with feeding as a change can sometimes (not always) put a new snake off feeding for a little while don't panic if he doesn't feed royal pythons can go months and do go months several times through their lives without taking the nice juicy rat you offer. just to put your mind at rest one of my females currently hasn't eaten for about 7 weeks and i suspect she wont for a while longer. also the more hides the royal has the better. the more secure he feels the quicker he will adjust CONGRATS ON THE NEW ROYAL I'M SURE YOU WILL HAVE YEARS OF PLEASURE

I picked it up on friday, it seems happier and not as annoyed.
i have a heating pad that i put under the tank and then put some news papers over it to make sure the temp is distributed a bit better, then in the middle i have its water dish, and to the far right i have a box with a flap cut out of it so it has somewhere to hide (the snake loves it there) and its funny because the box isn't all that big but the snake coils up so most of it is hidden. I have a standard 60 watt bulb up above the cage providing a warmer temp for the air arround the cage a bit too.
Last night i went to try and pick up the snake to move it to a plastic bin so i could start cleaning the cage and all, but when i touched i it felt shocked, and moved its body toward my hand where ever i was touching it like it wanted to feel it more, and the neck tensed up, so needless to say i didn't feel like being bit and what not. so i put the lid back on and sealed it. Ill post pics in the photo galary
