Yes I am glad to see you back. I was just mentioning to someone that I wondered what happened to you and Zach. How is he? Would love to have an update on Nana when you have a chance. And of course picture. You may want to look around the forum because there have been changes. We have added a new category with new sections for the members.

Well It was one of those non-optional vacations and it could have been better. At any rate I am glad to be back, as are my iggs. I had my mother iggy sit for me while I was gone and she assured me the iggs were definatly attached to me. She said they were obiously depressed the whole time I was gone. They healed up from thier unexpected attemp at mating. Violent ritual I might add. Needless to say they are now housed seperately. I think I mentioned that before too. When I got back I built a new cage for them 72"x30"x36"x2 one on top of the other with a 12" gap between the two for the lower lights. 1.5"x1.5" stock for the frame, Melanine(Cheap shower surround) for the walls and floor(on top of .5" plywood), and .5" hardware cloth for both cielings. Bypass plex glass doors for the front. I ordered two of the 4'x10.0s to upgrade from the 5.0s and replaced the spot lamp with ceramic heat emitters. So far Only $220 and some change counting lights and heat, excluding my labor(about 10 hrs). I plan on spending another $120 on a misting system I found that has a built in regulator and timer, and will work both cages seperately. I may just stick with two foggers though thier a little cheaper. For now the spray bottle will have to do. Nana and Zack have moved to his parents, Nana inherited Bob and Spaz's old cage. As one cage its big enough for her to sleep and bask in, as two cages it wasn't enough for the other two. +Nana is big enough to go outside without a cage and she will have plenty of roaming time. I do have a concern with her though. I may need to take her in to the vet. She had a soar on her belly that scabed up and the scab has since come off. I think its all healed up and it is just a matter of time the scales will grow back in, but... It doesn't seem to bother her. I am still not sure where the soar came from in the first place. Its about time for another check up anyway so I'll have answers soon enough. She is still anti social untill she is outside then she is as happy as could be. She probably eates more of the dandilion leafs in the yard then of her salads, not too sure why she perfers to graze but she is much healthier then when I got her. (Belly soar aside) Zach has put in a PVC coated shelf system in the cage to decrease the amount of obrasive surfaces her belly scales can get snaged on. Personaly I am still working on my web site. I've got most of the HTML coding understood, now its onto Java, or some server side application. I am not sure which to use but JavaScript seems to be the standard. Still lots to learn. On the high side I have the HTML side of the search engine written and several other features complete. Once everything is done I plan on approaching several companys with an incorporation opprotunity I doubt they will be able to turn down. Patrick, didn't you have some beardie's?

Jeremy, Iguanas being aboreal like to be high. You may want to put both cages off the ground and maybe use the space below for storage.

Well that is great news Jeremy! I'm glad Nana is doing well aside of her sore. RZ had some sores like that from when I got her on her belly, it was from urites coming into contact with her skin. THey are healing up still but they will be gone soon! I'm glad that sweet girl is getting some outside time! And RZ tends to love grazing more than her prepared food. IT is odd, maybe it makes them happier to do something themselfs. Keep up the good work and glad you updated us on everything p.S. Someone on this site was wondering about Sugar Gliders. Maybe if your mom knows some good websites you could post them in other animals for me I was waiting for you to get back! Steph

Welcome back Jeremy Sorry I missed this before now. But we are glad you are back. Sorry about Nana's belly. You may want to try some Neosporin or antibiotic ointment on her sore it may help the healing process. We use it on our Iggy's boo boos and it does seem to help. Take care now

I think it was starting to get infected so I did start putting anti-biotic ointment on it dayly after soaking. She molted not to long after and shed the scab, now its a white patch of skin missing the scales but clean and healthy, I took out the branches and anything else that might scratch her up, since she doesn't have any armor, if you will. Now it is just a matter of waiting for the scales to grow back in, no biggy. She seems to like her new environment better any way.
Thanks everyone for the warm reunion. Also very glad to see our community has grown quite a bit in the last month or so, I think it was only 60 some odd ppl two months ago. I just hope I can find a little more time to get to know some of the new faces.
There will be a link in the other animals thread and the links thread for the Sugar Gliders, If that doesn't answer the questions feel free to PM me. There is a lot to know about them. We are up to 22 of the little critters now and Dncng has been a Mod for a few years now. She's not in earshot or I'd see about her AIM address, this link should be perfect though. gl
