Well October creeped up on me. But I have Stephanie (RZ's owner) flying out to help me drive and care for the kids. So pillowcases it is for carriers--most likely not enough room for dog carriers.
All three go in for their health certificates Monday the 3rd so I can cross state lines. Also the girls will be checked to see how much improvement there has been. Already got vets in Ohio picked out too. Will have them checked after I get there too. Vet said as long as I get the health certificates no more than 10 days before the start of the trip it will be good for the whole trip. So I definitely have to leave by the 13th. But hopefully will be leaving on the 11th.
Get off at 7 am, pick up the truck, have the neighbor and his friends dismantle the enclosures and load the truck (along with going to storage and picking up my sister's stuff), pick up Stephanie from the airport (sometime while this is going on), load the car onto the tow and then take off sometime that afternoon or evening. We have to stop off in KS to give my sister her stuff. Then up to Ohio. I at one time considered Kansas but found out the Zip code (66604 LOL) and that reptile vets in the state was few and far between. A good reptile vet near by for my girls was the most important criteria.
There is supposed to be steak and potatoes waiting for us. I think I'll have them have slurry waiting for the girls and ig salad for Huff (hope he eats) too. If they don't mind.

Hey Marie Well I am glad that Steph is coming out to help you move to Ohio. Well I would of never think about pillow cases as carriers, but I think that is a great idea less stress I would think. Plus I think it would save some room in the cab. Plus I would never think about the health certificates that is another good idea Wow you have a lot of stuff to do I hope you get everything done. Well I do not know about that zip code it may mean some thing if you believe in that thing but most people do LOL! So if your going to KS. Your probably going to take I-40 across the States. It is a nice ride but hot ride when me and Denise did it in May, but I think that well take you closer to KS. Well there are two good vets here 3 if you would like to travel about a half and hour west but 2 good ones in the city here about 15 min away. I hope you get the enclosures dismantled and when you get here we will work on getting them together for your guys. On the food for the iggys I well have plenty till you get to the store, which are 2 of them. One I buy dandelion greens at and the other I but the rest of my green I am known as the green guy there because I go in there and purchase most of the green from them. One is about 5mins away the other is 10mins away. Oh by the way how do you like your Steak done LOL!!!!!!!

We will help you getting the kids all set up when you get here,so don't worry and have fun. We really like the vets here also. So I hope the kids will be OK for their journey here. I never thought about health certificates either, Good idea! Sounds like you have thought of everything Marie. So get your packing done because the 11 or 13th is coming fast now! LOL I already have the steaks bought and in the freezer ready to go when you all get here. I also bought some Montreal steak seasoning Stephanie..LOL Hold the blood on Steph's steak, now how about Marie's? I'm sure we will have plenty of ig salad also. Marie when you do slurries ,do you just put the salad in the blender? Or are you feeding them something else? We would be glad to have it ready for them,so let me know. Well we made it through the move. They each reacted differently.
We ended up letting Baby and Dragon loose in the cab.
Huff was at first in the pet carrier. But he rubbed the top of his snout raw. So we put him in a pillowcase. That worked great for him. He still skirmed but wasn't able to hurt himself. He hasn't eaten/drank or pooped since Wednesday though. We will need to work on all that but he faired pretty well overall. Although he kept getting smooshed and knocked over by me. Poor abused Huff.
Dragon is all upset about the enclosure. When Wednesday came I took Baby and Dragon and put them on my top bunk of the futon/sofa/bunk and they were fine for the day. They even ate a few greens. But then came time to take that apart. So I took and put them outside. Baby just plopped herself down for a nice bask but Dragon went to the garage so she could get back in her home. When she found it was gone she was terribly upset. She has always perferred her enclosure ever since the first day that I put her in with Baby 10 years ago. Whenever I take her out she always goes back and sits at the door until I let her in. Well along with Baby she was loose in the cab. For someone who I have to force feed she sure had a lot of poop in her. Pooped on me twice and several times in the cab. Everytime we stopped she would come to the door to be let out. We let her out and she would look around. I think she kept hoping we were home and she could go to "safety" (her enclosure). When I got here I put them in the spare room with some greens and heat for now. I told Dragon she would need to talk to Patrick about the enclosure. Patrick will be setting up the enclosure but the sealant will need to set a couple of days. So Dragon will have to wait a bit longer. I know once she is back in her enclosure and feeling "safe" again she will be fine.
Baby just found a warm spot and settled in. She ate a little and pooped a lot before we left but refused to do either during the trip. I took her out a couple of times and she just wanted to bask. We couldn't let her do that long so I think that is why she didn't poop. She usually goes after she basks outside for awhile. I did have a hip leash on her since she is not restricted by deformities but she just wanted to bask in the sun. She let loose in the spare bedroom though when we got here and was a mess. So I put her in the tub to clean her off. She has never been in a bath tub since I always only had showers before. She was not too impressed with the experience but it helped warm her up a bit. Patrick trimmed her nails while I held her though. She didn't resist but she usually doesn't.
Now I was different story but that is way too long. But the place is great and now just need to get settled in.
Hope all went well with everyone here.
